yeah.. if it's a "no," they'll let me know and i'll have the opportunity to ask what i could improve upon to increase my odds should another position open in the dept in the future.

you can do a search within the groups section for any industry you're interested in and you're likely to find a dozen or more groups that pertain to that industry's issues.

I got offered a teaching job in S. Korea, in Gwangju. I will be leaving as soon as I can get my visa from the Korean Consulate in Los Angeles.

On a related note, does anyone want a free ride from Phoenix to L.A. in the next couple days? My man might not be able to get off work, and I'd rather not drive alone. I'll be there overnight, and you don't have to hang out with me if you have something you want to do there. I'll most likely be heading out tomorrow night - not sure on that yet.

well i don't think i could've given a better second interview. i think i did an awesome job really. although i did see who i was up against for the job. dude is a product specialist and really knows his shit. to be honest, it's cool just knowing that i was in such good company. if i didn't get the position, i would understand why. having said that, though, i think i did a pretty solid job and stand a good chance of getting it. they didn't say when they'd have a decision, though. *fingers crossed

i finally broke down and msg'd the manager i interviewed with and asked if they had a timeframe for notification on the position. they apologized for the delay, told me i was still in the running, and that they would let me know soon, but not sure exactly when.

well it's not looking good. the other guy got the "hey, can we run a background check?" email and i didn't. so unless he fails that, it's pretty much his job to take. i'm honestly not too upset about it. it'll mean i don't have to work overnights over the weekend (which my gf was NOT gonna be happy with). i talked to the other guy about it yesterday and he said that a lot of people applied and he and i were the only people who got the callback for a second interview so at least there's that.
