Groupon and all those coupon sites keeps offering maid services and I'm really thinking about it and maybe getting a cleaning lady on the regular. I would feel so... rich.

i'd love to have someone just do the dusting and the floors. i have no patience for dusting. i'd just grab some of that canned air and shoot the dust everywhere to avoid picking everything up one by one and dusting it and whatever it was sitting on. hate it.

we're doing almost the opposite. bought a new tv last week and possibly new furniture this week. took everything from our bedroom and put it where the office used to be and moved the office into the master suite so we have more room. we didn't need all that room for just the bed and a couple dressers. so now we've got an office and second living/entertaining room. that's pretty much how i spent my weekend.

well it's not looking good. the other guy got the "hey, can we run a background check?" email and i didn't..

so...

i get an instant message yesterday afternoon from the manager of the dept i applied to get in to. he said to call him a bit later in the day to talk about the position. knowing that the other guy was already offered the job, i had written down a bunch of followup questions as to why i didn't get the job. so i call up and they tell me that during the hiring process, a second position opened up and they'd like to offer me the job.. with a huge pay increase. it's still the shittiest shift imaginable but the manager advised me that it likely won't be that way for long. but that they couldn't guarantee that. anyway, i accepted and they informed me today that they're having a team building event tomorrow and they can get me in to it if i wanted.. it's here: http://www.bondurant...chool/index.php needless to say, i'm going. then a nice lunch after that and that's my day of work tomorrow. ha ha

so yeah.. quite the up and down and up again couple of weeks. i'd pretty much told everyone i didn't get it and got all the "aww.. that sucks man" replies. so now i get to go back and say "psych!"

thanks! everyone in the dept so far has been super awesome. and that racing school was the shit. we did the carts first and then the camaros/G8s. i got in a camaro and realized it'd been over a decade since i'd driven a stick so i hopped over to the g8. i realized i'd spend too much time worrying about shifting to actually enjoy myself. oh well, that g8 still kicked ass on the track. even with the a/c cranked. ha ha i kept trying to mess with the stereo to blast some metal but i figured i'd better keep my eye on the road.
