My thesis is called the "Black-Emperor-Says Theory" and holds that any any Phoenix-area indie rock festival there is a 100 percent probability that Emperors of Japan, Black Carl, and/or What Laura Says will be on the bill.

Horror and Sci-Fi fans won't want to miss the 6th annual International Horror and Sci-Fi Film Festival taking place October 14-17 at MADCAP Theaters in Tempe, AZ.
In addition to great films, this year's festival features celebrity guest appearances from actors Lance Henriksen (Aliens) and Charles Cyphers (The Fog)plus Adam Busch on Opening Night with “Drones” and the Closing Night film, “Night of the Demons” with Tiffany Shepis.
Plus "Gore Girl" beauty pageant and the inaugural "Beat the Geek" contest!
As an Insider you can save 20% off all passes by entering the discount code HORROR when ordering online.
Lance Henriksen will be on hand on Saturday, October 16th for a screening of the classic, "Aliens". Following the screening he'll participate in a Q&A and an autograph signing.
Following the Lance Henriksen event we'll be having our first ever Beat the Geek contest as part of our Saturday night party. Don't miss this fun event and show off your geekness.
Also on Saturday we'll be having our first New Times Arizona Film Showcase. The showcase will feature Closets, Everything's Eventual, Snuff, Ave Maria and four short films from Arizona filmmakers. Get out and support the local filmmakers.
Visit HorrorSciFi.com for all the good stuff
On Friday night, we'll have Charles Cyphers in the house with a screening of John Carpenter's The Fog. Charles is a John Carpenter favorite and has appeared in many of Carpenter's best films. Following the screening there will be a Q&A and an autograph signing.
Also on Friday night you can check out some horror and sci-fi shorts, Dario Argento's Suspiria, the anime flick, King of Thorn and even more.
Opening Night will feature the new Sci-Fi comedy "Drones" which played at Slamdance and Fantastic Fest. As a bonus, director Adam Busch (Warren Meers from Buffy the Vampire Slayer)(why I would want to go) will be on hand to talk about the film and to do a signing.
Drones will be the appetizer of even more sci-fi to play all weekend with screenings of Jim, Zenith, Sci-Fi Shorts, Everything's Eventual and Lunopolis.
Did we mention the Closing Night film? Well it's pretty cool. We'll be screening "Night of the Demons" which stars Shannon Elizabeth, Edward Furlong and Tiffany Shepis. This is a great way to finish of the IHSFF weekend.
Don't worry we've got plenty of horror all festival long with
screenings of RoboGeisha, Ashes, Rage, El Monsto Del Mar! and plenty of horror shorts.
