the internet is like a bar

It's cool to meet chicks and have a fling, but not a place to go for long term relationships.

I know some engaged couples that met on OKCupid and have been together a couple of years now.

I met Mr. Mary through a personal ad, back in the days of the horse-drawn stagecoach.

I always needed a lot of reinforcement to consider dating someone, like knowing them for a while or having friends in common. Because I'm a girl (or that's my theory; it may just be the way I am with new people in general), I find that whole "Hi, total stranger, let's go out" thing very weird.

If you meet someone online who's patient enough to get better acquainted before the one-on-one romance, I think that's a good sign.

Love like you don't need the money, dance like you've never been hurt, and work like nobody's watching.

I want to meet everybody. Whether it happens because of the internets, a bar, or whatever - it's all just means to an end.

It's the people that counts.

when i moved, i updated my myspace to reflect. i was messaged by this guy and we chit chatted and eventually met. however, he was kind of a secret douchebag. had i been friends with his friends or known his inner circle, i would have probably been able to figure this out before going out with him a few times.

my friend here is using the okcupid and she is not having much luck. her stories are pretty funny though. like guys showing up on dates with 400 vacation photos and stuff. court classics. the likes.

however, i do know some people here who have had some great online experiences.

I know someone who married a guy she met on the internet. I think they had mutual internet friends, but had never met in person until they were already "in lerve." They are a match made in heaven and are very happy.

I have gone out twice with internet ladies

1st time I took one look at this girl and almost bolted cause the pictures shes sent were..well...not accurate. But seeing her, and knowing why she was There I couldn't do it. So I took her out for a few drinks she was okay, long story short she basically said she would be down to you know "do it" but I declined, cause I could see trouble ahead had I done so. never talked to her again.

2nd Time I picked up this girl we had diner and drinks, she was kinda cute and okay to talk to, so I hung out for a while. After a bit she started sharing all this crazy info with me about how she used to be a phone sex operator, and how she is into BDSM and at one point mentioned dick torture. Most of that was ok in my book, then she was like "yeah but i dont kiss on the first date, and sex could take a while and..." I was cool with that, whatever. about 40 minutes after that convo on the way out of the bar she pinned me to my car and started making out with me, I took her home shortly after that (without going in) and haven't seen her since. I dont know.
