So I was thinking last night about which would post-apocalyptic worlds I'd want to live in the most as well as the worst 3.

Top 3:

1) Fallout. Duel wield desert eagles while indiscriminately mowing down gangsters, prostitutes, mutants, and kids. All in a post-apocalyptic days work.

2) Mad Max. Not really sure why, maybe just cause I feel like I'd have more of a chance.

3) 28 Days later. I had a hard time picking which zombie world to use, but Godspeed really won me over on this one. I don't really mind getting chased down by super-agile flesh-eating zombies as long as there's wonderful Canadian-born orchestral rock playing in the background.

Bottom 3:

1) Water World. Just lame all around. That and growing up in Arizona I'm much more comfortable with everything being turned into desert instead of water.

2) The Road. Probably the only scenario in which I really hope I just die in whatever cataclysmic event that causes the mass extinction of man.

3) War of the Worlds. I don't want Tom Cruise to be the savior of man. ever. Funny how similar the events in this movie are to what Tom Cruise actually beleives is going to happen.

i would also like to add

Left4Dead - kinda like 28Days Later but a video game so it's super fun. i would totally run around Pennsylvania mowing down hordes of zombies with my automatic shotgun and 3 friends.

mad max would be fun if i could get into a young Mel Gibson's pants (before he becomes all douchey and bloated)

water world would totally be lame - drinking your own urine is out of the question (unless i am on Man vs. Wild)

Has anyone else seen A Boy and His Dog? It's based on a Harlan Ellison story and stars a young Don Johnson. In this post-apocalyptic world, creepy 1950s midwesterners who live underground try to steal your sperm, using a hot farmer's daughter as a lure.

the end of day of the dead, you know, when it's two dudes and a chick on an island? i'd rather have two chicks, but... i'll take what i can get i guess.

fallout 3 seems like there is just enough hope an opportunity to not give up on life. and i have SUCH a crush on moira.

does planet of the apes count? how about planet of the apes the musical? i my god, i was wrong... it was earth all along...

i used to watch this show called "the tribe" that was all about some virus that killed every adult, so now kids are splitting off into gangs and trying to rebuild the world.

it was from new zealand and cost about $12 per episode. it was both terrible and awesome at the same time.

who's your great uncle?

when i was a kid, i lived next door to this old dude who used to be an actor. in addition to being a regular on barney miller, he was also one of the apes in the original planet of the apes movie. how's THAT for some name dropping!

Emperors of Japan

My thesis is called the "Black-Emperor-Says Theory" and holds that any any Phoenix-area indie rock festival there is a 100 percent probability that Emperors of Japan, Black Carl, and/or What Laura Says will be on the bill.
