Everybody will eat shitty spaghetti, but nobody eats traditional fare? Lame. Like Ortega taco shells and Rosarita beans are real mexican food. pffft. I'll eat it. Fideo is soooo good.

i'm under the impression a lot of mexicans don't celebrate it.

my father was in charge of operations at a pretty big resort in mexico a few years back, and his first year there he suggested that they do something festive on cinco de mayo and all the mexicans he worked with were like "why the hell would we do that?"

somehow it's gone from a day marking a mexican battle victory to "cinco de drinko". and believe me, i'm fine with a day of drinking and eating mexican food, but cinco de mayo (at least the way we treat it in phoenix) kind of seems like amateur hour. it's the one day a year that the ladies on the HR team go to happy hour at dos gringos and pretend like they enjoy mexican culture. they're tourists.

man, i'm salty today.

I actually never celebrate it. I won't go into my views on the holiday however this year I feel the need to be out and about and so be safe to anyone that does venture out today!
