I always said that AZ mexican food was WEAK compared to everywhere else!
I ate at a place in chicago and it was awesome!! HUGE burritos and So good!
I have no Idea what it was called cause I was wasted!
i disagree, though Chicago has some great mexican food restuarants no doubt (chi-town!). I've always really enjoyed Phoenix's mexican restaurants and miss them whenever i travel abroad/out of state.
Ever been to Boston? The only mexican food you can find there is burritos. I love burritos but they are not the only food to come out of mexico.
we have tons of cool shit: taco stands and carts, hot dog carts, gourmet mexican, regional cuisines and lots of good mariscos places!!

Maybe I have just lived here my whole life and dont appreciate what I have or maybe Im just tired of it so anything outside of here seems better to me. Nothing beats my mother in laws cooking so well In the end I guess the best Mexican food I ever had is in AZ. Dang! thanks for making me think about that Jacki! Oh and wait really There is mexican food other than Burritos? WTF?? Who knew?

word. i get that.
other side of the coin:
i grew up in a place that didn't have a lot choices so i love what phoenix has to offer.
and nothing beats home cooking.....except maybe watching someone drink Macayo's baja sauce.

Put equal amounts of cream cheese and sour cream into a bowl.
add red wine of your choice into mix until it it thins out.
zest a lime and squeeze the juice into it.

Ponchos? that place on Southern near Alma School? really? if it is I think it's mediocre at best.
Mexico is a big place (lots of regions). There are more kinds of Mexican than one.
actually, i think it's on central, just north of baseline (or in that area). there's probably more than one poncho's, but that's the place i'm thinking of. i know bill clinton ate at that one. i ate their once. we only went in because it was a 2 hour wait at los dos molinos, and this place was nearby.
i remember thinking it was good, but i don't know that i'd rate it as the 4th best mexican restaurant in the US. i probably wouldn't even rate it as the 4th best mexican in phoenix. but we have a whole other thread related to that topic. either way, good for them for getting the recognition.
Myspace
My thesis is called the "Black-Emperor-Says Theory" and holds that any any Phoenix-area indie rock festival there is a 100 percent probability that Emperors of Japan, Black Carl, and/or What Laura Says will be on the bill.

I would venture to guess that Yahoo! people are pretty white, though.
