here's to dead old drunk rich dude that really couldn't care less about the rest of us unless you happen to be voting for him. the worst of his line in public office. thanks for not much of anything Tedder bears.

i'm not a major fan of the man because of his personal indiscretions, but i totally disagree with your assessment of his career. civil rights act and the americans w/ disabilities act were both both driven by him. he was also a key figure in the attempts at healthcare reform pushed by clinton and subsequently obama. priveleged and drunk? yep. but effective.

My thesis is called the "Black-Emperor-Says Theory" and holds that any any Phoenix-area indie rock festival there is a 100 percent probability that Emperors of Japan, Black Carl, and/or What Laura Says will be on the bill.

Yeah I mean the dude did some good in the Senate:

The Immigration and Nationality Act of 1965, the National Cancer Act of 1971, the Federal Election Campaign Act Amendments of 1974, the COBRA Act of 1985, the Comprehensive Anti-Apartheid Act of 1986, the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990, the Ryan White AIDS Care Act in 1990, the Civil Rights Act of 1991, the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996, the Mental Health Parity Act in 1996 and 2008, the State Children's Health Insurance Program in 1997, the No Child Left Behind Act in 2002, and the Edward M. Kennedy Serve America Act in 2009.

Although No Child Left Behind is godawful, most of those made a tangible positive impact on our lives.

Politics or not, he got some good stuff done, personally he was 60-70% douche, but he still did the public some good.

like what specifically? i'm not challenging you, i'm just curious. it's been a kennedy lovefest the last few days on tv.

i'm not counting the "he drove into a river in 1969 and a lady drowned" incident. bad? yes. but i'm talking about "doing the public some bad".
