I am may be hosting a Dudes Gore night at my house some day. It's a night of all dudes watching some gore flicks that are supposed to be for dudes and not reviewing them for PoolDude magazine.

im providing snacks and stuff and the videos.

It might sound a little gross but it's really fun - we just get to say what we like and don't with certain videos (we usually do watch the entire videos, not just clips). Some videos are funny, we've got "Reanimator" and we have some highly recommended film from Peter Jackson called "Dead Alive".

reply if you're in the San Diego area and would like to join me!

Dudes only, sorry ladies....

NVRMND! ladies aloud because I'm not prejudiced like Jackie O. (;))

dudes told me that. Lots of dudes.

Dudes who go to bachelor parties where they show porns, or get on "party buses" that have porns up on the tv screens on the buses. Porno theaters, etc.

i'm not saying it's bad or judging at all. Im just saying our culture encourages the consumption of porn by men and leaves women out of the equation unless they are there for the entertainment of the men.

And there are a lot of women that want that same access to their own entertainment without being judged or harassed by men. We're not "asking" for it. We're doing it on our own.

I once tried to go into a seedy sex video store and a bunch of fucking nasty dudes followed me around the store thinking i was there to fucking entertain them. They would not leave me alone and it was fucking scary. It was not a place for women.

liz complains about porn all the time, when we go to castle shes always disappointed by the lack of anyhting that interests her. the few times she DID see some dudes she was into,it was gay porn-and she is REALLY not into watching dudes bang. (which is funny, since i dont like lesbian porn either. but i digress).

uhhh i forgot where i was going with this. so heres a funny tidbit: when we go looking at porn or toys, she makes the old/creepy guys in there really uncomfortable, which i think is awesome. plus she is like 4'11", so she is tiny and hot. i think it confuses them and makes them self conscious.

that's a simplistic, ignorant, and naive argument. Our society is not a purely capitalistic society. And you're completely ignoring the fact that we live in a patriarchal society as well.

And i've said this on the board before, in the U.S. pornography laws are set up to favor the production of pornography for men and not women. Combine that with what i mentioned above as a system of oppression set up to encourage women to participate in pornography only as a means of entertaining the male audience and you have a whole market geared towards men.

But thanks to the tireless efforts of various movements within feminism, women and men recognize that that set up is detrimental to not only gender equality within society and the law but also to our happiness.

Also if you've done any research on the pornography market (i know you've done a lot of research on porn, don't get me wrong) you'd know that women are the fastest growing market of consumers of porn. (I'll give you that information when i get home from work).

whats wrong with supporting and encouraging women to seek out their own sexual happiness? That only leads to better sex.

Anytime women say "No Boys Allowed" men freak out and call us reverse sexists. But anytime men say "No Women Allowed" and women freak out, men call it "tradition" or "separate but equal"

that said. im all for your agenda. ive got pooplboymagazine.com bookmarked in the event that anything actually happens i would like to know. but there are some basic facts you cant ignore. men are retardedly simple when it comes to our prime objective. its been proven that almost everything the average man does in his life is to get laid. and the porn market is just a byproduct of that. however, women are much much more complicated. they have other things on there mind other than sex. probably because they are on average smarter than men (so ive been told and believe). sex might be important to them but if anything its only just a small fraction of what makes women go about there lives and function in society.
but yes. i agree with you, i am ignorant, that being said, please dont get upset with my ignorant point of view. im not hard headed and my way of thinking can be changed by a good conversation. jacki o 4 lyfe :D

this is why dudes watch porn together in the first place. all the fun and none of the "yap yap yap"

but really though, dudes watch porn and every now and then watch it with other dudes. but often watching it together is a different story than watching it alone (much like your aim). i fail to see how we are encouraged to do so or how we love it so much that we do it every day or how the dudes who do it that often aren't skeezy mofos or are templates for common man.

but hey i was just razzin' ya in the first place. no need for the blown gasket, charlie!

im not upset. i just like FACING

and im not saying men today are at fault for this. You are also functioning in a system of oppression as well.

It's just that argument of "there's a market" is kind old and pointless. Yes there is a large market for men. And yes men like sex a lot. But so do women. And sometimes science can be gender biased.

back in the day during the renaissance in Italy it was common "scientific" knowledge that women could not be good painters because they were too "emotional" and one needed to possess "male" traits of rationalism and calmness in order to paint. Fast forward to the Romantic period and all the sudden women were considered too detached from their emotions to be artists. One needed to posses "male" traits of being in touch with their emotions to reflect the world in their art.

Arguements against what motivates women and men can be sexist even when based in scientific fact because science and societal mores can be very intimate bedmates.

Afterall, you argument that men are motivated by sex more than women is based on your perspective. Don't sexual health scientists say that men reach their sexual peaks early in their teens and 20s and women do in the 30s and 40s?

All i am saying is yes there is a large, established market for men but i would wager that a large part of why that has come to be is because of a social system that encourages men to consume the product while condemning women who do. And that oppression is created by both men and women.

My example of the seedy sex video store was to illustrate that were no female friendly sex toy stores 40 years ago. And that's all that was there for women to access sexual material, then they were screwed. Those places all catered towards men because it was considered abnormal for a woman to want her own sexual material. So why in the last 40 years has a whole new market of sexual material for women begun to emerge? because ideas on sex and gender have been explored and old taboos and false ideas have been discarded.

i will also add that the internet has definitely provided an equal playing field for women to access pornography.
