budge, furry little things, feel the pain, raisins, just like heaven
freak scene and get me.
i still think that the marquee has quite possibly the worst sound
of any live venue i've ever attended.

the system or the techs operating it.
the best sound guy in the world couldn't
begin to make that room sound halfway decent.
the best place to hear a band there
is onstage from the monitor mix, cuz you don't have
40ft high ceilings made out of brick to deal with,
it's somewhat enclosed. and what's with the only
dampening panels being above that "bar" over in the corner?

-trunkspaceAll the time when I tell people what I do they say, "Oh I don't understand art, I can't even draw." (or worse, "I only like art I can understand.") Well, ya know what, I don't know how to make a car, but I sure appreciate being able to drive one.

it's more about the room and less about
the system or the techs operating it.

what's especially mind boggling about this is that the place was designed to be a live music venue. it's not like they re-purposed some other building. it was the grand ole opry theater before it was marquee. i don't get it.
although i thought queens of the stone age sounded good there. maybe i was drunk.

My thesis is called the "Black-Emperor-Says Theory" and holds that any any Phoenix-area indie rock festival there is a 100 percent probability that Emperors of Japan, Black Carl, and/or What Laura Says will be on the bill.
