Memories are a mixed blessing....
I think I had a nice time at that New Years party that Rum Tenor played....
and that's all I have to say about that.

-i look really fucking good in a swedish morbidly obese outfit while mopping while
rv mops with pizza crust shoved in his mouth(i believe bobby bought the pizza?)
hissdong filmed it onto to his digital phone.
-and i also saw lonna(and shane) eating taco bell in emerald lounge for
tierra del fuego's very first show(consequently with goodbye blue monday and colorstore)
it was packed and everyone left after tierra del fuego played(they were really good
(a bit more of a dirgeee gospel type thing when they first started.)

"And I remember meeting you at Joe's Grotto through the Optimist. What ever happened to that guy? One of my best new years eves was at your house off 6th avenue. I think I wanted to play your guitar, but I was drunk and the guitar was special and you didn't let me. Am I imagining that? I broke a beer bottle on your kitchen floor."
In an ideal world Optimist has gone through 10 years of intense therapy and now has a kitten rescue shelter. Well, here's to wishing.
That was a terrific NYE & somewhere in a secret vault I think there is videotape of it. I left my videocamera on the stove which was still on & I found it melted the next morning. The bit about the guitar .... I don't remember, but it could be.
The first time I saw Minibosses it was at a space next to Four Peaks. Some New Year's party (it had to be about 2000).... I don't think I knew anyone there--maybe Donald.

I do remember seeing HotFoughtCold, Ten Commandments: The Movie, and Stab City Slit Wrists at the Farmer House. I can't reference a year or date, I'm not good like that.
I know ChadK from his FLG days.

also, i remember getting lost every time i went to the old paper heart to play/see a show. that's where i met JRC and steph when they sold coffee there.
i think my first full on shizz experience was bands on grand.

Ha! i think the Optimist would definitely find some healing via feline rescue. i know i have.
one night at the Hollywood Alley I told the Optimist to go "F" himself. i had more balls back then. not always a good thing.
and i was at the minibosses show. it was a weird space, almost like the old paperheart. i didn't know anyone either, except Donald and Mike. When was that? 2003?

-oh and the boombox shows at emerald were pretty memorable. the sweet weiner and colorwhore
shows kind of all meld into one big drunken blur.
hey, remember that night we all got banned from the Hotel Congress?
do you think it was RV's 2am fire and brimstone sermon at the top of his lungs, or you getting dragged around the hallways with lipstick smeared across your face, or the dance party, or the jumping on beds, or the fact that we were repeatedly asked to quiet the f*ck down?
hey, remember when you "forgot" your guitar chord?

Think I came on board circa 2003 when I met (sort of) Donald & maybe Chad at some very weird 'save our scene' type meetings hosted by an odd gal @ alice cooperstown. Lurked for some time before that, been kinda peripheral to theshizz ever since... Remember specifically an odd singer/songwriter showcase at the Brickhouse that Donald put together (including Lonna, D and maybe others). Was somewhat impressed, but it's been interesting watching you folks from arms-length ('specially Lonna) mature as musicians over the years. Ahhh... open mics! one of these days I'm gonna get one organized, and I expect y'all to make an appearance.
Thanks Skeksis!
I totally forgot about that show at the Brickhouse. Too bad the people that run that place are so lame.
You know what I miss, Mondays night open mics at Monroe's (another venue come and gone).

i met jlip of AAA (at the time) in recording class at MCC around '99 or '00. our bands decided to hook up shows together and i remember one of our first shows was at the alley with Vin Fiz who none of us knew. this was the marty, montoya, dlc lineup. those guys were old but cool, shortly after that i started catching more shows at the alley and i caught a mb's show and i think this is where i first saw death of marat too. i believe this is around the time when i first met donald.
other fond shizz related memories.
any farmer house party, the lab with abe and tres tres bien, briefly seeing the liars in the kitchen. the 338 house. xanax weighlifting sessions with burke. the NYE party at the lab, shizzfest when i overexposed myself and played with 4 bands. having a wireless guitar at holga's. mb's cd pakaging parties at lkelly's and ben's houses especially the one when we smeared cake inside. being phil's back up band for a few IHYWYP shows. naked blue crowds with vin fiz in portland and mary's club. fvck computers house party. recording thee apologies with jlip. stab city destroying the lucky dragon during a performance. 17 drummer version of ghosts n goblins at the alley. financial panther at border's. mr pacman at the argo with IHYWYP. montoya and delacruz always playing gay chicken. phil breaking a bed frame at congress. scamming ray into being our sound guy in mexico city. pacman/totally radd/mb's at modified and seeing mr pacmans suit being ripped right off of him. SPARKS! screaming COCO RICO with bullyrag. recording YKN track with jb for the shizz comp. meeting very young shizzies on out of town gigs and drinking their offerings. playing drums for hotfoughtcold for the best of new times gig right after pokafase. bisbee hippies on 'shrooms with vin fiz and san diego with fatigo when we got the show shut down cuz we were too loud. fatigo practice at that one bar on grand "cat" something. sleeping in marty's van. scaring the shit out of wood by pretending we were crashing in marty's van. california trip in donald's pimp daddy pickle van. peeing in a bag in aforementioned van. seeing IHYWYP in LA when the place cut the power on him, "WE DON'T NEED NO MICROPHONE, GIMMEE SOME PUSSY!!!" sneaking donald and kristen in a 12' x 12' san francisco hotel. and i'm forgetting tons more but i've got work to do now.
thx amigos.

he owned the domain name to Fatigo.
Hey Lonna, do you remember when you used to come up from behind people
and thrust your pelvis back and forth? The one time you did it to me
I ended up boobing you with my elbow. Eesh! I thought you were Mike or
Donald...sincerly!
Also, fond memories of Vin-Fiz and Fatigo and being the fill-in drummer
for most of the shizz bands. EOTM was one of my favorites to play with.
And... Having to exlpain to everyone that I wasn't the one who complained
about not seeing the penis on soft core porn because "The penis is
supposed to represent you". It was my friend Shawn D.
Oh yeah, I almost forgot. I met donald thru a new times add.
