kristen wiig is awesome when she's given the right material.

anyone is awesome when gioven the right material but that doesn't make up for all of her original characters being complete shit.

no way. some people just aren't funny no matter what.

who are her original characters?

gilly is the only one that comes to mind, the rest are really forgettable. i usually end up changing the channel every time she shows up in a weekend update segment or anything like that. i really just don't find anything about her funny.

Gily is her only bad original character. The Target Lady, The freaky small hands ("I like can I touch"), the travel agent lady on weekend update, Trina ("Thomas!") are all good.

I like her old character Penelope, the woman who makes everything about her and one-ups what you say, no matter what it is.

Wiig is funny. Used to see her at The Groundlings shows back before she was on SNL. She did this one sketch where she was a cracked out stripper/whore auditioning for a broadway show. HILARIOUS, she even fake peed her pants during the sketch. Oh man I never laughed so hard. Between her and Melissa McCarthy (Suki) on that sketch, I walked out of there in pain from laughter.
