I guess if i have to pick one id say captain squeegee, those guys are insanely talented and rad dudes. Plus they have been doing alot for the local music community recently and their last record is like a giant orgazm while riding a horse of death into battle. (not how it sounds but how it makes me feel)

Andrew Jackson Jihad - Great songwriting that gets catchier & resonates more on repeated listens. Pretty much any EP after Candy Cigarettes & Pop Guns, I've had the reaction of "I don't know that I dig the new stuff" and within a week, it's my favorite.

Fatigo - One of the first bands I caught when I started doing more stuff downtown. First band that I'd check out multiple times on purpose.

Treasure Mammal - BFF! I've seen Abe do amazing shows for 100 people and just a handful of people.

Minibosses - First local band ever recommended to me multiple times. A friend who worked at Bookman's Mesa had caught one of their earliest shows.

Asleep in the Sea

Haunted Cologne

Father's Day

Snow Songs

Nowhere Man and a Whiskey Girl

Runaway Diamonds - Crazy fun shows, awesome choruses, great ideas.

Great Job! from Tucson

Calexico

A lot of newer (that is, new to me - as in only barely got around to catching them live) Cagematch, Rumspringer, and Emperors of Japan.

Thanks to Chad for mentioning Ten Commandments: The Movie! I loved them and only saw them once!

When push comes to shove, I am going to say the Half Empties. I wanted to say Shark Pants, Groundwork or JFA, but when it comes down to it, I had so much fun @ Half Empties shows, met some of my great friends from their shows, and overall impact was great...So there, I have made my choice..

Such a hard question.

It'd probably something like:

Trunk Federation
Fatigo
(Lush Budget Presents) The Les Payne Product / Project / Less Pain Forever

..........
But then there are other greats too.
Tierra Del Fuego
Colorstore
Sweetbleeders
Lonna Kelley

and Serene Dominic (an overlooked songwriter)

All the time when I tell people what I do they say, "Oh I don't understand art, I can't even draw." (or worse, "I only like art I can understand.") Well, ya know what, I don't know how to make a car, but I sure appreciate being able to drive one.

Hey, then it's a good thing for you we are playing with them Saturday on a free show we put on! Check it out in the shows section. We love these guys too. They were one of the first bands who took some interest in us last year too.
