Well yeah of course! The PHIX wasnt the best by any means but still a place to book bands that needed shows if you didnt have an house to book them in. If you argument is the sound then hmmm you must have an awesome PA because most house shows I have been to or played we use what we got and most of the time we struggle with that. that's got to be photoshopped. right? right? and i don't mean somebody photoshopped an american flag in the background, i mean they photoshopped a beanbag chair where her vagina is supposed to be.

also: innerear, i sort of agree with you. i'd prefer quality over quantity. but i'm bummed they closed because it's one less option, and also because it gave bands a chance. even great bands were probably crappy at one time.

a friend of mine from high school always referred to is as the "gerbil box". i'm not sure why. but one of our teachers had a fierce one (not on par with the filly in that picture, though) and he would evaluate her outfits on how they complemented her gerbil box. so that phrase has stuck with me. henceforth, i'll file it next to "torpedo toe" in my mental dictionary.

But my point is a house show is a house show if I'm paying to go to a venue and see a show I would expect there to be atleast descent vocal PA. Lost Leaf has decent Vocal PA. Rythm Room sounds pretty good. There are places, why do people settle for sub par in this town, you may consider me a hater but I know personally I'm always trying to be better at what I do and pushing what is considered good. Jacki you know, unlike most people, I would say all of this in person as well as on the internet. I'm actually more likely to say this in person as I don't do ineternet posting all to often.
