SOS CONGRESS
Join diverse Arizonans on June 27th at 8am at the Heard Museum. Together we will exemplify unity for the rest of the nation to see. In recent weeks, we have become pawns in a national game of hate. We are being called racists by people who don’t know us, who are misinformed about how SB1070 came to pass.
Over 500 Arizonans from diverse cultures and belief systems will stand united, shoulder to shoulder and spell out SOS CONGRESS while we are photographed from 12 stories above. This photograph will be going to the national media, along with a series of portraits, also shot that morning, each with three Arizonans standing side by side.
Regardless of our differences this is something we can all relate to as Arizonans. This is a bill that negatively impacts all of us in a multitude of ways. The Federal Government needs to stand up and take control of this issue, which not only affects us here in Arizona, but the rest of the country as well.
We want to put a face on the people who live here, and we need to show that we are standing in unison. We are in the middle of a crisis that could last our lifetime if we don’t stand up now and let our voices be heard. Help us spread the word. June 27th…please be there. Every person counts.

My thesis is called the "Black-Emperor-Says Theory" and holds that any any Phoenix-area indie rock festival there is a 100 percent probability that Emperors of Japan, Black Carl, and/or What Laura Says will be on the bill.

Cool that you got a response, even if it was pretty brief - he's been quite the academic celebrity for decades now.
