What are some of the things that your parents or adults used to tell you that were fucking straight lies or something they said to make you act right.

Such as the biggest buncha shit........ Santa Claus.

But I mean more out there like the red dye that would follow you around if you pissed in the pool.

If you swallow gum it sits in your stomach for 7 years.

santa was the biggest one for me. i was devastated when i learned the cold hard truth. i was all "my letters to santa fall on deaf ears"

oh and my mother still tells me i need to be married and procreating

When I was in d.a.r.e. in 5th grade, I seriously believed that you would get shoved in a high school locker for not trying drugs. They used the peer pressure card to attempt to scare us all from even talking to those who used!!!

I never beleived in Santa and it was confirmed to be the truth that there was no such thing when one Christmas my dad got wasted and passed out and I wole up to nothing under the tree at all. And then the time when my mother just left me a whole bunch of IOUs for gifts instead of actual gifts. I really never liked Christmas. I was not raised in religious households at all so yeah.

I never believed in any of those mythical and/or holiday things... easter bunny, tooth fairy yadda yadda yadda

My grandma and mom told me I would totally be in love w/ the first guy that gave me the big 0. That was SO wrong. hahahahaha

I always new all the adults in my life were full of shit so the only thing said that use to piss me off was... "do as I say not as I do"

HA i found out about the christmas thing when my drunk ass dad accidentally left a Doctor Doom marvel secret wars figure out and said "uh, santa told me to uh leave it here for you". using my batman-like detective skills, i figured it out from there. i was either 5 or 6.

shit, my parents told us all kinds a crap but im blanking on ALL of it now. maybe the funniest bit of advice was neither useful or real but "you know winter is coming when all the black kids stay inside instead of playing in the streets". it SORT OF was true, but it had more to do with the fact that all the kids that played basketball at the parks in Newark, NJ stayed home once it was snowing. most of them were black, but still....just ridiculous
