i know that...i was being sarcastic. and yes its true. which blows for me mostly because i would rather hit a board where random people pop up than register for facebookis that a fancy way of saying 'PEOPLE ON FACEBOOK ARE EXCITED?'
that's my way of saying i've noticed dropoff on nearly every message board i used to visit once friendster, myspace, facebook, etc.. took off. people seem to be less willing to hit up a topic/genre/industry/etc specific site when they can simply hit one site and see what all their "friends" are doing. the "what are you doing this weekend?" threads on some boards used to get lots of attention. now people just say something on facebook and wait for comments.

ah. well i use both. and twitter as you know. twitter seems to give me a bit of what i like about message boards.. a great, quick way to share information as opposed to just how someone feels about the sandwich they just ate. with message boards, i get cool links to stuff i'd likely be interested in and what the poster thought about the sandwich they just at the same time. facebook is too personal, twitter is not personal enough, which is why people should love message boards.
to me, azpunk was too personal for some people and now it's not personal enough for others. hopefully, with some of the social media integration there, that could change.
