i am 'internet' friends with a bunch of brits, and there is some SHIT going down and it looks like the media has quashed it pretty much entirely. i havent heard about it outside of my twitter feed and message boards! because if theres a bunch of brown savages rioting because their cleric was killed, thats one thing, but a bunch of white middle-to-lower class people fighting for being fucked by the elite?

No shit. Or take out a loan like I did. I heard all this is because the annual tuition was going up from around $5000\year to $14000\year, give or take. Big jump, sure, but that is exactly about what we pay now at most state universities. Some in state tuition at ASU is that high, depending on the program. Go back to the East coast, and you are lucky it is ONLY $30000\year.

I'm saying higher education is a privelege and not a right. It would be nice if it were the other way around but it's not. It's not free. Somebody has to pay for it - either in tuition or tax subsidies. It's a shitty economy everywhere.
