for all the pain and damage the two I had removed caused - they came out so easy. After a week of anitbotioc to get the swelling of my jaw down so I could open my mouth the doc just used a couple of shots of novocaine/lidocaine/whatever it is and yanked them right out. Took about 20 mins. I did faint later that day in the grocery though. Yanking them out messed w/ my BPPV. oops. (oh I was 25)

when i got that previously mentioned molar pulled back in high school, i passed out standing with my mom at the nurses window. i collapsed forward, smacked my face on the counter, and then fell backward and cracked my head on the floor. on the way home, my mom asked if my face hurt. i didn't recall what happened between blacking out and waking up on the floor and my mouth was numb so i was like, "i don't think so" and started to feel around with my tongue. turns out i'd split my bottom lip open on my bottom teeth. good times. i shoulda sued.

I got mine yanked when I was still on my parents' dental plan. I was 17 or younger. 3 of the 4 teeth were above the gums. One was like almost all the way out. It was practically a normal tooth. The other two were just peaking out and number 3 was completely submerged when I had them removed. I did not get put to sleep for the procedure (some people do; like my older brother). On the way home, I was still under the influence of the pain killers the dentist gave me and my dad was in a rush to get back to work, so when he asked if I needed the pain killers right away I told him no. So he dropped me off at home and went back to work (both parents were working about an hour away) and dropped me off at home. Then the pain killers wore off and I wanted to die for a few hours until they came home with the pills.
So yeah, if anyone gets the wisdom teeth removed, make sure to get that scrip filled ASAP. Once I had the scrip it was smooth sailing. I could have lived without the pills on day 2, by day 3 definitely no problem at all. Gums heal fast.
Mine were necessary to remove. Even without them my teeth are crowded on the top and my front two teeth are tilted back very slightly behind the incisors next door.
