i dunno how the light rail makes driving worse as it eats up a whopping one intersection on mill. i take it to work every day and avoid the highways and driving altogether. fuck yeah!

also you picked a bad day to drive down mill, i think.

south scottsdale? really?

I dunno, I don't feel that way. I think that small area between University and Rio Salado is so pretty. And I am totally enjoying the businesses they are bringing into the open space available in that centerpoint area. I heard the management company was looking to put a small grocery market in there too. That would be awesome. The farmers market is on University and Farmer, however, food staples there are way too expensive for me so I end up having to drive a bit to the closest grocery. It would be awesome to just be able to leisurely ride my bike to one right there.

As usual a bunch of bitching about SoScottsdale. SoScottsdale currently has more small locally owned biz than the entire Tempe area you guys are always falling all over. It just gets so old that you people barely pull your heads outta each others asses long enough to notice what is around you.

my bad. i was talking about how tempe is south of scottsdale. i guess i should have said "that part of scottsdale where it looks like the jersy shore people would be right home, but now in tempe", instead of south scottsdale. and i took the side street to avoid uni& mill and crossed the rail 3 times.

idk i guess theres a lot of people that are down with new mill. im not down with it....

I've been in Tempe for years and Mill has always been like this. I live only a few blocks away and worked on mill for a few months and have never had any issues with it. Areas like that bring in a lot of money to the city and are pretty easy to avoid.

My thesis is called the "Black-Emperor-Says Theory" and holds that any any Phoenix-area indie rock festival there is a 100 percent probability that Emperors of Japan, Black Carl, and/or What Laura Says will be on the bill.

Yeah, fatguyaz and I are about the same age and ran in similar circles. Up until about '94, it really was a pretty cool place to drink coffee, walk up and down the street, window shop, buy one-hitters, and just kinda loiter in general.

Related, some friends and I went to Fat Tuesday last week, after about 5 hours of drinking at Casey's. That place sucks so bad, but GOD DAMN I love me some alcoholic slurpees.

Also related, I still miss Mill Ave Long Wongs to this very day.
