my favorite album ever!

One of the best one-and-done albums ever.

The Thermals - The Body, the Blood, the Machine.
I'm liking this one a lot more than their last one, which (after finally growing on me) I really like. There's a shitload of passion in this album. "A Pillar of Salt" is an awesome song.

Sparklehorse - Dreamt for Light Years in the Belly of a Mountain
This one needs a few more listens from me. Not because it's bad, but because "It's a Wonderful Life" is one of my favorite albums.

Grizzly Bear - Yellow House
This might end up being my 2006-2007 Winter Album.

i don't know because i' am borrowing it from estrogen and i didn't get the case only the cd which has no info on it,

the first song starts with whistling,

Ah, yeah, that's "As The Roots Undo". Track 6, "Non Objective Portrait Of Karma", is my favorite there, great intro and awesome buildup.

I've been on a mission to trim my electronic music section...it pains me to do so but I've tossed out a bunch of u-Ziq, Juno Reactor's "Shango", some Enigma (hah!), and I'm working on reducing my massive Aphex Twin collection to something more manageable.

I can't speak for their live show, but this new album is pretty good. I could see how you might not like them at first because it took me a long time to get into Fuckin' A. Had to have a few of the songs come up on shuffle before revisiting it and realizing it was a great album. Give the albums a couple of listens. They remind me of Ted Leo a little bit.

I offer no promises that the Grizzly Bear album will become your winter album, since it doesn't get cold for you anymore.

I tried hard to get into the Thermals, just couldn't do it. Same with their new stuff. Bummer.

I think that's part of their "Ted Leoness". People I've spoken with either like or hate Ted Leo. I guess it's the same sort of thing with the Thermals.
