How is it? I haven't listened to their first album in ages...The Sword ~ Gods of the Earth
I need something to listen to that isn't Mission of Burma / Shellac / Joy Division.

St. Captain Freakout and the Magic Bamboo Request - (worst production values ever create a mushy pulp of psychotropic awesomeness!)
Eggs - Bruiser
Exploder!
How Do You Like Your Lobster? - (all great examples of creative, grassroots pop music! - Steve Albini called Bruiser "beyond crap" - a great endorsement
if you're like me and don't worship lame-ass Albini - i really miss these guys!!!)
Air Miami - 14 Songs
16 Songs - (if anyone is a Teenbeat/Unrest/Mark Robinson fan, these are essential! - their official album "Me, Me, Me" contained what i thought was a fake
discography - turned out these 2 albums were real and had never been released until now! - beautiful stuff - why isn't Mark Robinson an "indie"
superstar yet? - these 2 albums will set you back only $20!!!)
Maybe It's Reno - S/T - (enough with the Teenbeat! - i know - but they've been releasing some great stuff lately! - this one is the solo project of one Bridget Cross -
the beautiful voice and bass of Unrest and Air Miami - her first work in years!!! - Mark Robinson and Phil Krauth from Unrest guest star!!!)
Lydia Lunch - Queen Of Siam - (my father loaned me this album - her first solo album, recorded between her bands Teenage Jesus and the Jerks and 8-Eyed Spy -
full of atonal slide guitar, lurching rhythm, sexy vocals, and brassy showstoppers - totally awesome!!!)
The Teardrop Explodes - Kilimanjaro - (another album recommended to me by my father after i admitted i'd never heard them - i know it's old, but it's full of great
songs and textures - in fact, there's not a weak song on the whole thing! - if you haven't heard it already, check it out!)
Pentangle - Sweet Child - (great debut double album by studious British folk pioneers led by Bert Jansch - loads of great songs performed with technical aplomb
and great vocal panache - do not listen to the idiotic ramblings of bearded "weirdo" new folkies - listen to this!!!)
and, for my bearded hipster album...
Band Of Horses - Cease To Begin - (all for nostalgic purposes - i fell in love with someone while she was playing me this album in her car - opening song "Is There A
Ghost?" makes me feel like she's in the room with me - does anyone agree with me when i say that music is awesome?!)

also just watched: new york doll, a documentary about the final days of Arthur Killer Kane, bass player for the New York Dolls. after burning out he became a mormon, but later happily was able play the new york dolls reunion gig in London ~ afterwards returned home & died of leukemia. recommended.

Torche ~ Meanderthal
Clinic ~ Do It!
The Go! Team ~ Proof of Youth
Ministry ~ Cover Up
Then I bought Coward Crutch a shot and left my card at the bar.
And it looks like Byrne and Eno are collaborating again.
