Who cares. It IS their best album. Punk ethos, noise collages, J. Mascis fanboyism, ZZ Top homage, riff after riff after riff, dildo worship, several awesome Lee Ranaldo songs, references to William Gibson, Eric Emerson and Joni Mitchell...What is your first?Sonic Youth - Sonic Nurse. To be honest I don't really like Dirty that much. I hardly ever listen to it.

Fully agree. I think what makes it so good is why I like Sonic Nurse. It kind of gets back to the feeling that Daydream Nation has.
