yeah, in New Hampshire, when I lived there in 86, i used to get called a 'faggot', by a bunch of high school jock rednecks, for wearing red Coverse lows. I politely explained to them that wearing red converse does not a 'faggot' make. Then I showed what does make one a 'faggot'.

i showed them.

DK toured a few years ago w/ Total Chaos w/out Jello. They had a big falling out because Jello turned down The Gap(?) when they asked them if they could use "Holiday in Cambodia" in a jeans commercial. There was a suit and a lot of bad blood between them after that. I figured that was common knowledge for all you az punkers. Anyway, Jello has this great bluegrass/folk project right now; it's pretty amazing. Forgot the name, hmmm....

Wow...this thread rules!! I had NO idea anyone here likes DK at all...definitely one of the bands that had an impact on my musical evolution throughout my teens. All the punks I know/see these days in Boston are too cool to like DK and such...

I'm a fan of Jello's collaborations, ESPECIALLY the album "Prarie Home Invasion" (why does Prarie look wrong? I can't spell) with Mojo Nixon and the Toadliquors...Jello + Mojo country music = awesome, go snag it from my FTP and listen to "Convoy In The Sky" and "Nostalgia For An Age That NEver Existed"...and "Will The Fetus Be Aborted" too!

A few days before I accepted my current job, I listened to Well Paid Scientist on endless repeat...had I joined a larger corporation, that song would probably be all about me...luckily Genzyme is the anti-corp, from what I've experienced so far.

I still can't get over how masterful a song Stars n' Stripes Of Corruption is...

My favorite Jello collaboration is the one with NoMeansNo. NoMeansNo's guitar and bass player switched instruments for that album and they even did a couple of tunes that Jello wrote. The production is painfully bad, though.

That song "Plastic Jesus" by Jello w/ Mojo Nixon is fucking great.

Brent Miles (the Ballad of) used to cover that.... I think Paul Newman sings it on, um, that movie...what was that?
