to anyone on a silver platter (unless your paris hilton) you have to pretty
much work for whatever you want, whether it be, respect, money, frequent
flyer miles, a degree or whatever.
Cosby is just stating the obvious.

i agree with everything that cosby
said. the article is too conservative -
i knew some people would take advantage
of what cosby said and turn it around in
their favor. white america isn't off the hook
as much as the author wants it to be.
the fact is that white america was
a big reason why 'black america isn't
doing better', as the article puts it.
everybody needs to keep fighting for
better conditions - conservatives don't
have to place the whole weight on blacks.

I personally thought that the whole reason for the Cosby tirade was that, given the given the chance in the last number of decades, the outcome seems to be somewhat disappointing.i don't like the article, but
i agree with everything that cosby
said. the article is too conservative -

I think his rant is more of a scrutiny about how some people do very little to try and better themselves with their lives, because it's easier to blame someone else when the things they want to happen just don't, and to nestle closely to that safety net.
I agree with the Cos, and truthfully, the author of that article.
Not with a political agenda, mind, you. Just a human one.

that white america is no longer responsible.
let me put it this way - after reading the article,
someone not familiar with the situation at all
would come away feeling that if they asked
bill cosby if white america was in any way
responsible for black america, he would say
FUCK NO. of course he wouldn't.

I think it's more an issue of social class.
People talk about black this white that.
I think it's more, lower class america and upper class america
there are white kids, mexican kids, asian kids who are all doing
wonderfully well in school cause there parents are educated
working full time jobs and living a productive life in suburbia
There are also white kids, black kids, mexican kids, asian kids
who can't read or write and doing drugs and whose parents are
not much better off.
Parenting is so important
Let me make something else clear, just because you make less
then 10 grand a year doesn't mean you are not educated or are a
druggie on the street, there are many struggling artists out there
who are scraping by but are doing so because they love what they do
whether it be, teaching, music, art, whatever.
I know I have alot of holes in what I just said, I am just typing this
stuff down as it is coming to me.
I think people need to lay off the color thing (although not ignore it
there is a long history of which can not be ignored) and focus on
educating and helping lower income families.
If we can get rid of all the Jerry Springer Hopefulls through education
then we can make this a better country.

Besides, if I ever spawn any offspring at any point, I would hope they wouldn't have to deal with sunburns like I do.
