A dutchie is a cooking pot, like a dutch oven. When Musical Youth recorded the song, they based it on another reggae hit about coochie, which is slang for a splif in Caribbean, mon. But they decided to change it for the American audience.

hahaa. i am with you there. there had actually been a cessation in the seemingly never-ending "riblets" mantra in my head, but after i typed it out, it is back in full force. who ever thought to sing riblets to the rawhide music deserves death. by riblets.
