i think it's sad that ween's comical songs
can deter real music lovers from checking
out the rest of their catalogue. especially
considering that gene ween is one of the
greatest songwriters alive today...

ween is awesome I think they are definitely underrated as musicians and songwriters.



Weird AL, is an amazing songwriter for the genre he is in. You have
to be in a certain mood to listen to him, but ya gotta admit, he does
have some pretty funny stuff and his originals are pretty good too.

I wouldn't say he is the greatest rocker, but maybe the greatest mocker.

i'd like to say something on my obvious contradiction... weird al isn't serious and pretentious either and also keeps it loose and fun. the only difference is that ween isn't a paradoy act and weird al is.

I appreciate his talent, and I love Lucille has messed my mind up.....but I don't go to music for 'funny' or silly or quirky (for the most part)... i go to comedy for comedy, I go to music for the blues and the melancholy (for the most part).....I'm just not into 'ha ha' music..... I gotta confess, not into Primus, Ween, Zappa, or anything Mike Patton has ever done......it just doesn't move me....I love comedy, I love music, I'm just not into the combination of the two......I love A-1 sauce, and I love Breyers Vanilla Ice Cream, but not together...
