They just put one in down the street from me (Warner and Eye10) and it's a madhouse. Yesterday was helicopters, ambulances, and police; today it's CARS CARS CARS.

Ugh.

How long before the store is safe to go in? 6 months - a year - or is it always going to be a mad house?

I'm guessing this weekend = madhouse and Thanksgiving weekend = madhouse.

Other than that, I have no iKea.

I have been taking bi-yearly trips to the IKEA in Houston for about 6 years now. Let me tell ya, it's never safe to go in.

I saw a car wreck directly related to Ikea, except it was on the freeway. The Elliot road exits are so jam packed that people had to slam on their brakes, causing one vehicle to slam into the back of another. I saw it just after, as the coolant was pouring out all over the freeway from the car with the smashed in front end . Is Ikea worth people getting in pretty nasty traffic accidents?

Absolutely!!!

The IKEA vision is to create a better everyday life for many people.
We make this possible by offering a wide range of well-designed,
functional home furnishings products at prices so low that as many
people as possible will be able to afford them.

Don't miss the IKEA Veterans Day Event!

It's like a five-day shopping decathlon!!!

I was driving down Priest the other day at lunchtime, with no idea that this "Ikea" place was there. I was thinking "What is with this traffic?" Cars were parked up and down Priest, the right lane backed up to Elliot Road and Warner and beyond in the opposite direction... it reminded me of when Krispy Kreme opened and all those people waited in line from the butt crack of dawn to get some sugar and flour fried in grease and topped with more sugar. Anyway, I looked passively at the Ikea catalog last night. What is the allure of this stuff? It looks pretty basic. It's not like a blueberry colored couch that matches your new VW bug and your Macintosh laptop is going to continually provide you with some orgasmic state.
