#1174150 Politics 2012--local votes? Maricopa county AZ

Posted by Tony on 25 October 2012 - 11:46 AM

http://azsos.gov/ele...ish/Prop120.htm

that's a link to the propositions and the arguments for and against.

i hate election season. i get that people may have differing opinions on how to fix economic problems or deal with foreign policy issues. that shit can be nebulous and there are many possible solutions that require intelligent debate - but by and large it just seems like the elections are a showcase for people to be as racist, sexist, and homophobic as possible.

that's why i'm writing in j.j. mauls for president.

i sold my summer home in the hamptons and had the chance to invest in berkshire hathaway when it was trading at $91,000 per share, but instead i bought a yacht and claimed it as a residence because i didn't want to pay the capital gains tax. now BH is trading at $119k! hindsight is 20/20.

You also have a dentist appointment at 2pm on Oct. 8th, so you gotta stay in town for that.

otherwise, i'm in agreement with weener.

also come on, we all know that tony isn't a busy guy....

look, if lurking outside your house in a track suit and watching you eat doesn't count as "busy" then i don't know what does.

#1065794 RIP Amy Winehouse

Posted by Tony on 25 July 2011 - 04:14 PM

i just posted this thread for anyone who liked her music to be aware that she passed away. and i guess when it's a woman doing it, singing and songwriting doesn't make you a musician?

douches

Jesus. Are you trying to earn your Internet trolling merit badge? Her being a woman is irrelevant. I was saying I don't think she deserves to be included in the same company artistically as the other musicians I mentioned. It's worth mentioning since people keep lamenting her online like she was Madonna.

HNIC, I didn't mention the Norway shooting victims for three reasons:
1- none of them were 27
2- a bunch of them were women, and as we've proven already in this thread women don't really matter
3- I heard the shooter was from Scottsdale, and that town sucks.

See what I did there?

I'm more curious about the financial ramifications involved (ie, how this will affect Facebook's supposed IPO next year) than the actual product.

whatever you say, poindexter.

#1064056 How come...?

Posted by Tony on 19 July 2011 - 07:21 PM

Fuck. Frink has a point.

if that's the case then we're all country, and jacki shouldn't be wondering why our music is so popular and this thread doesn't even exist.

gif your way out of that one, frink.

There was a test campaign used in the 1920s to market a new product. The product was a type of music, a new type of music called 'Country.' It was aimed at the Southern United States and the Canadian Maritimes. If it had worked it would have been marketed all over North America. But the campaign failed and the music failed, because it had a side effect on the unborn children. An invisible side effect.

Spoiler

frink, you are fucking misunderstood on the minibosses forum.

Yes, but only certain information and in certain context. The state has my SSN but it's not public. And it's not like my info that is public is meant to be out on a file sharing service. Plus, it's easy to be put into negative light by association without there really being a connection. If they pull 15 peoples' emails about some shitty thing and include my emails in, regardless if mine have anything to do with the shitty thing or not, it can look bad for me. I mean, Sarah Palin had a bunch of emails leaked and most people have an opinion on those without even having read them or knowing what they said. All that has to be reported is: this topic was found in emails and these names were included. Bam.

Basically, yeah my info is public but that doesn't make it ok for a group of hackers to decide when and how to present that information.

i doubt they are "after" you or your information. i suspect it's mostly associated with the governor's office (and if you work for Brewer you deserve it) and the MCSO (and if you work for Sheriff Joe-No, then you deserve it) or Russell Pearce's office (and if you work for Russell Pearce you deserve it)

:)

jacki, that's a pretty flimsy argument and you know it. maybe not for the pearce camp - it's small enough that you probably have to be some sort of monster to work there. but for the mcso and governors office i'm sure there are plenty of non-partisan people who are just trying to do their jobs (investigators, legal aides, admin types), and this impacts them. i don't think it would be reasonable to expect them to quit as some form of protest just because jan brewer is retarded.

your head and vagina would simultaneously explode from anger if there was some right wing equivalent group that hacked into the planned parenthood database and published all their employee information.

my head and vagina do not explode because that happens all the time. not only do they hack into shit but they murder people, blow up buildings and harass customers.

it's not a flimsy argument. they are after those who crafted SB1070 and the like. it's not about politics, it's about human rights. if you are working in those offices (brewer, Arpaio, pearce) then you are supporting people who actively work at violating human rights and bankrupting this state.

it's not like your personal info can't get hacked into when you play video games online (SONY) or shop online or do anything today what with the digital revolution and all. Your personal info is readily available, doesn't matter where you work.

i'm sorry, i still think it's awesome. it's people standing up to hate that has permeated our state government.

fair enough, but i disagree. for some people a job is just a job, not a political statement.
