and man, ive thought millions of times about shows in random ass places. BUT my belly still implores me that if i could find a pizza place that serves booze i would probably never want to go anywhere else again.

Why are there no punks who have opened a pizza place like this? Somebody give me some money and I'll do it. Either this or my life's dream. Ericbertos. It will be modeled after Pokez in San Diego but with beer.

my friend jp's parents used to own this bowling alley that they would let him set up shows at in golden colorado, saw small 23 there, christie front drive, john cougar concentration camp there

my friend jason bought a set of cheerleading stands and they set the bands up on the lanes so you could bowl next to them while they played.

which reminds me of tempe bowl that was a fun place

Wow dude, live in the past much? A bunch of places in Denver where you haven't lived in over 10 years and this:

the old long wongs on mill
the farmer house
modified

Do you have a time machine nobody knows about.

As for in the now kind of places?

Super hungover. If I'd seen this yesterday and realized we wouldn't be playing until 11 or wheneverthefuck we actually played I would have insisted we do both.

Bummed.

oh, one more thing: chalupacabra, comparing californias prop 8 and racial profiling helped me calm the fuck down. Are gays being asked to show their papers too? I had no idea.

Its good to know you only care about civil rights violations when they impact you. I mean, that's your perogative...fair enough.

s

top touring in China (i don't think i need to explain this one)
-Bands on the boycott list that have toured in china: Sonic Youth, Ozomatli, Tenacious D, Kanye West, Joe Satriani...

A-fucking-men. Even when enacted SB1070 is not going to cause a fraction of the human rights abuses of China.

When i get pulled over and harassed because my skin is brown, i'll remember this. Thank you for reminding me that I don't have it as bad as the Chinese. Racial profiling is not so bad after all!

Calm the fuck down. There is no way that's what I meant and any rational person would know that. Especially when I said that I understand where certain bands understandably would want to avoid our state.

Boycotts rule. The groups that have pulled their conventions? Awesome. That has real impact. People boycotting the groups and businesses that bankroll the politicians who wrote this law..fuck yeah. Sonic Youth, NIN, Michael Moore not coming here? Who the fuck cares.

Donald is right that there is a bigger issue here but this thread is about bands boycotting the state specifically so people brought up a lack of consistency in the stance. Lets take China out of the equation. I assume these bands, being so concerned with social justice and civil rights violations, are also refusing to play in California because of Prop 8 in solidarity with the gay community right?

also, and i can't prove this, but i'd be willing to bet that black artists in the 60's boycotting the south was as much about safety as it was about making a political statement.

I'm going with this as well for another reason this is fucking stupid. Conner Oberst should be afraid of having his ass kicked, but not for this reason. Or Sonic Youth? Fuck off.

Your Juanes and Cafe Tacvba's of the world...sure I get the potential issues for them but most everyone else just wants to

pat each other on their backs about how they 'spoke out'.

No shit. You know that episode of Seinfeld where Elaine is dating the dude who requires silence everytime Desparado comes on? Born to Run is that for me.

Insert Simpsons clip where a bored Kent Brockman comments on the halfback and center passing the ball back and forth, and the Hispanic exitedly announcing the same. And a riot breaks out when everyone tries to leave at the same time.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=noOHdTQd6H8

this is what i have been saying all along

Two things. Hockey has all the same passing back and forth to do nothing only to dump the puck into the other end and have a line change after like 2 minutes.

2nd, the person or people on here who play golf have absolutely no place to call any sport boring.
