I will never take it to any thread, ever, and it is foolish to suggest that I do so.

#1422943 Things you just discovered about games...

That's bad ass! Was that game ridiculously hard? I remember sucking at it. Same with the Genesis Batman Returns.

Uncut Gems is on US Netflix now apparently, so if any of you haven’t seen it and are looking for a real suspenseful movie, check it out.

For bonus material make sure to follow Wayne Diamond and any other fashion and diamond district weirdos from the film that you can find on Instagram.

#1422916 Anime

Posted by Robby V on 24 May 2020 - 09:57 PM

Just finished Yawara! A Fashionable Judo Girl!

Great series! animation was pretty consistently good throughout, and while it doesn't go all the way to the end of the manga, the anime ending wraps things up pretty decently. Handful of really great characters, too.

Yeah, there’s a little bit of bustle on my street but nothing really annoying. It’s mostly just pleasant. The bar on the corner used to have some really annoying patrons that would rev sport bikes in the middle of the night, but the last few years their clientele have been a lot more chill, and now I just get to faintly hear funny karaoke a few times a week (tho coronavirus put that on hold).

I’ve had a dot before, and it was pretty nice, but it never really felt all that great. Since I’m not getting this one to fit my usual tastes, I just want to find something real fun and tactile.

And I want a guitar that actually goes up in value over time for a change, ha.

I’m kicking myself for not getting a Walnut ES335 a few years ago, it seems like they’ve shot up dramatically. That 345 Steve Howe would use sometimes is gorgeous.

Thanks! Yeah that was a lot of fun doing those huge guitarmonies at the end.

Something really neat I realized about that song while recording it is that the song in the game is a cover of the vocal arrange. As in, every time the verse and chorus parts come around in the game, the timing and pitches are a little different every time to match the changes in the lyrics.

#1422473 you know what's great? Weird Al

Posted by Robby V on 18 May 2020 - 05:18 PM

Damn, never crossed my mind that Weird Al would be a Sparks fan but it makes so much sense. Love Sparks.

This video is my fav performance of theirs that I've seen.

Justin Hawkins from The Darkness took a lot of inspiration from them as well. He covered This Town Aint Big Enough, and Ronald and Russel were in the music video.

I think that the souls games are great, and did a lot of really neat and creative things that play to the strengths of video games as a medium.

So I think that thinking that they are arbitrarily hard and clunky is kind of ignoring everything that makes them good and unique... before a bunch of games ripped them off.

I also think that people think they are the hardest games and that they’re some sort of rite of passage have their heads up their asses. I’m really bad at games and I’ve beaten most of the souls ones. Same as any JRPG, you just need to level up more or find better items if you’re stuck. I can’t even beat Mario 3.
