#1187920 GIRLS!

Posted by MichaelTheCrow on 31 December 2012 - 06:06 AM

Okay, maybe just mentioning Pokemon and how to catch them(maybe). I'm half drunk and would not usually talk about this thing, but here's what my friend told me:

You have to start running around in long grass in order to encounter wild pokemon.
In this case 'wild pokemon' means Girls.
And 'running around in long grass' means putting yourself in different situations where there are girls you can converse with.
Also we should play pokemon, in this case 'pokemon' means pokemon

#1186804 Anime

Posted by MichaelTheCrow on 24 December 2012 - 03:02 AM

Just finished the final episode of Sword Art Online.

By FAR the best Anime I've watched, I know what you're thinking "An Anime about a Virtual Reality MMORPG? That sounds lame." but it's not. I'd recommend it for any fan of Anime in general, if you like the first few episodes you'll like the entire series :D.

Virtural Reality MMO?

.Hack// Did that long before SAO. And phenomenally well at that. You should give it a shot if you ever get the chance. It's best I think (AFIK) to start with .Hack//Sign, prequel to the first set of 4 games on the PS2.

I've heard SAO is full of plotholes but I don't know if it's true or not. The show looked pretty good from what information i've seen of it. And it is a pretty unique scenario/setting that i've only seen .Hack do before(AFIK). So I might watch it sometime.

Ugh, I haven't watched much Anime at all in the last few months. I think all I have watched in the last 6 months is Lucky Star and War in The Pocket 0080.

I want to watch Beck again but i'm missing the 5th volume. And it's cheaper to buy the whole series as a set than find Vol 5 used.

Next thing I should watch is Gunpla Builders. It's a short OVA so shouldn't be hard to find time for it.

Ignore everything you've heard about the show and see for yourself, I didn't hear anything about it besides it was an Anime about a VRMMORPG where if you die in game you die in real life. It's deep and emotional at times and it's very moving, it's got the action, storyline and well it's one solid Anime, all my friends are into it currently, it's THE Anime we all love ;).

#1186264 The home recording thread

Posted by MichaelTheCrow on 21 December 2012 - 04:25 AM

Well I put together a cheap efficient home made pop filter for my microphone, it has removed the unwanted excess sound quite well and no more clipping around the P's and B's, now to get it to fit more nicely into the mix is my problem, I've got a hard limiter on the master track and you can tell the vocals are squashing out some of the mix particularly in the snare drum at places as can be heard here:

I think my death growls have improved, though I'm looking for techniques and exercises to practise with. And trying to figure out the correct placement of the pop filter and better EQ'ing and whatnot.

#1183633 WII U

Posted by MichaelTheCrow on 11 December 2012 - 05:29 PM

I'm thoroughly enjoying the Wii U, to be honest my favourite game currently is Sonic and Sega All-Stars Racing Transformed, seriously, they took it up a notch, way better than the original and is more pretty on the Wii U. There is much retro/old school Sega love this time round, ever since I unlocked Vyse from Skies of Arcadia I haven't looked back. Really liking the Outrun Stage too:

Sooooooo I finally got my new Ibanez RGA7 all squared away. New pickups, frets leveled and polished, etc. I also found a killer deal on a five string bass to accompany it. Because I'm a fucking bandwagon asshole, I decided to record a little Periphery to test out a new mixing setup. Whaddaya think? I still feel like it might be ducking in a few spots, but that's also the result of some shitty one-pass bass recording (a few missed notes.) All in all, I'm looking for some feedback.

Sounds sick...I love you .

Also updated my track, featuring Brandon on vocals:

I must admitt there is probably too much reverb in his vocals, but man, it's great collaborating with people from all over the globe on original songs!

It's my knowledge that you can play Cave Story with the original graphics + music (everything but the remastered music is incredible, remastered is "meh", lost the spirit of the songs and the sound)

And it's the same game. And $2.50 is a fantastic price for it anyway.

I just accidentally drove home from work without my headlights on at 6:15am. I didn't even realize it until I got to my house. I guess my schedule is starting to get to me, and I still have no idea how I made it here in the dark with no light. Only some of the streets had streetlamps.

It's one of those experiences where you just go "Wow" and somehow try to put it behind you. I am very lucky and blessed that nothing bad happened, didn't even get pulled over or hit by anyone.

Clearly you possess night vision, are you an elf/night elf of any variation?

What does it mean if you've dreamt about the same girl more than one night in a row, or at least once a week? Is it just coincidence?

#1179612 RELIGION!

Posted by MichaelTheCrow on 23 November 2012 - 05:03 PM

Okay so this is unrelated to any of the current discussions going on but last night I had a dream. In my dream I was in the lounge room with my family when suddenly Satan appeared, he was being all evil like trying to corrupt objects in the house, he touched a poster, it turned into a picture of him, he touched other things and they became evil pictures. I then started praying "God, please protect us and our objects from the devil" then afterwards everything he touched, he was just touching them, he kept poking pictures and got frustrated they wouldn't turn into self-portraits of himself, then he left. I went into my room which was dark and saw a floating Jesus and was like "WHAT THE HELL IS THAT?" and woke up.

It was a religious dream, so I thought I'd share it here.

Okay, Ragnarok Odyssey is awesome, it shares similarities with Monster Hunter and Phantasy Star Universe/Portable, it's basically similar to any MMORPG but with smoother gameplay.

Not sure if it's the best place to post this but well...I'm working on an Extreme/Epic Metal rearrangement of the Golden Sun battle theme:

I realise there isn't enough quality covers to be found, I plan on fixing that with something of great quality, however this is a rough version of the intro:

I hope to bring you guys some more non DoD rearrangements in the near future .
