Fuckity Fuck Listen.
My apologies for living in L.A. (though I grew up in AZ)
We actually show up when he plays here.
'Wolverine' and 'Death of Refrain' are my favorites.

Where'd it go?

Perhaps I need to dig a bit more, but it seems my thread was deleted. I shouldn't be surprised I suppose, considering I was threatened with being banned from the board. I'd still like to set up an all day music festival for LA and Phoenix bands. To those of you who sent messages in support of this/offered to help, I'll keep you posted. We'll make this happen. Co-operatively, with no promoters as middle men, with the money going directly to the bands, and to pay for expenses (park permit, power generator, etc). Just like they did it in the old days. We don't need a venue to have a show. I'm thinking January.
A piece of advice; don't disagree with Donald, apparently free expression is limited on this board, subject to censorship if the Shizz Masters disagree with you (deeming you an "asshole," according to their guidelines, if they don't like what you have to say).
How democratic!

Why the Phoenix Music Scene Sucks
19 September 2009 - 02:19 PM
I was born and raised in AZ. Every time I come back I see the same bands playing the same songs to ignorant kids (all 5 of them) with tight black pants and their arms crossed. And you wonder why most bands skip PHX and play only Tucson? Being a big fish in a disgustingly small pond is no benefit in the grand scheme of things. And plenty of people will post how the scene is improving, etc.. Unfortunately PHX is still LA's redheaded stepchild, and until bands AREN'T pseudonomous with cliques and Stinkweeds employees, or some douche bag DJ in the New Times playing the vast majority of the "underground" shows, there is no scene. Just greased palms.
Instead of shamelessly promoting the same local bands, perhaps we should look at the fundamental problem; there is no "scene," or real culture here.
