I was on here a few months ago trying to find any musicians. I found some but ideally we'd like 2 guitars for a thicker sound. Maybe a vocalist in the mix? Here is the ad I place on Craigslist. Come on Shizz I know you're better than Craigslist. Make me proud!!!
Currently we're a 3 piece been playing together a few month with a garble of tunes and ideas.
Post-hardcore, post-punk, post post post kind of stuff.
Unwound, Young Widows, Fugazi, Shellac, Helms Alee, Shipping News, Jesus Lizard, Pelican.....
We're looking for dark, heavy, punky shit. No solos. Complimenting riffs, feedback, dischord, thick sounds.
We're looking for vocals that are strong but not necessarily screaming. Down tempo grooves
Check out some mic in the room recordings of some practice songs:

We're 30 somethings with no aspirations to tour the country. We will record killer records and play shows.
We've all got band experiences and you will probably as well. Tell us all about them. Send samples of what you sounded like.

Any Drummers?
08 May 2012 - 07:15 PM
Recent transplant from the San Diego music scene and I would like to form a band here. Alternative/Post hardcore/Post Punk. Looking for a drummer Age 25-40ish.
The name drop:
Unwound - Radiohead - Engine Down - Sonic Youth - Black Rebel Motorcycle Club - Girls Against Boys - Shipping News - Pinback - Blonde Redhead - Interpol - Yeah Yeah Yeahs and other like minded bands
The demo mock ups: (drum machine recordings or scratch demos)

An old project: (i was in bands before, omg)

Send me links to your bands, tracks. Gotta have something to show for all those years of playing. I'm no guru but it's not to much to ask that we can all play our instruments.
Not planning on taking over the world or doing any tours. Instead, I would like to concentrate on writing some great music and making some first class recordings. I'm sure we'll think we're amazing and everyone needs to hear us so doing shows would be natural when songs are complete (but we don't need to play them to small bars in Oklahoma or Idaho). I am looking for musicians that care about the time they spend at the practice space, do their homework with thinking and conceiving outside the practice space and constantly challenge themselves with what they bring to the table. We should enjoy ourselves when we play as well as care when we're not.

I'm posting this in this forum off of a recommendation:
I'm in Phoenix by way of the San Diego music scene. Played there for years and years in a band called lowcloudcover. We played shows with Colorstore here and there several times (and I even let them sleep in my house! YIKES).
Anyway, looking to see if there are any musicians sitting on their asses like I am who would like to fantasize about occasionally making some music. I don't think I've got the same mentality to conquer the indie world as I did in the past but, now being out of a band for almost 2 years, I itch. I'm looking for like minded people to build some songs and make some recordings... to hear the buzz of the amps and crack of the drums again.
I play guitar (but could play bass too). Like everyone I listen to a lot but would smile ear to ear with a hot queso dip of Unwound, Blonde Redhead, Shipping News, Girls Against Boys, Liars, The Wrens, Engine Down, Young Widows, The Constantines, Calla and many more. Let's drop names together.. In general I like a grittier band with some level of angst (even if you are dreamy... there should be angst).
Where would be a good starting place to find a pool of people? I'm way out in Buckeye and work early in the morning so trolling bars is not an option.
