Open source streaming program. I personally haven't tried it yet, but it seems like a reasonable alternative to Xsplit. Plus it's free, that's always cool.

With it all said and done I'm incredibly happy to have the experience. I feel like it would have been much better with someone else to trip with and talk to in the same state of mind. I'd definitely try hallucinogenics again but probably not for a decent amount of time. I'm glad that my first trip wasn't as intense as I had expected it to be. Sorry for the giant wall of text I'm posting from my phone while everything is relatively fresh.

Arrrrgh fuck those Anor Londo archers.
Use the boost to get through!
Killed Seath the Scaleless a few nights back. I haven't had much motivation to keep going lately. I guess the next place I would go is New Londo Ruins which seems entirely terrible to deal with.

I stream inconsistently but now that's about to change. Weekdays around 8:30 EST I'll be live playing vidya games for at least a solid hour. Mostly Dark Souls until I beat it and then Dota 2, SC2 and whatever else I feel like playing. Consider yourselves followed. I'm a fiend for streams.

I've got a question for the DS vets, hopefully one of you has the answer...
Some things in this game are a tad bit too hardcore for my taste. Granted I had a perfectly fine chance to avoid that whole mess but I was trying my best to only cheat if I raged too hard or had no idea how to progress.
edit: Definitely upgrade stuff! I was hesitant to at first because I thought that shards were rare but it's absolutely not the case. It'll make things a lot easier for you.

I've sort of hit a brick wall in Anor Londo. My second or third attempt trying to get in to the catherdral was a success. I got right up to the bonfire where Solaire is chilling and immediately got invaded before I could light the thing. My gut instinct was to alt f4 and just reload to safety, but my heart told me that I could win and trounce a foolish invader. Needless to say in my first pvp experience I got bopped. Now I'm having serious issues getting past the archer knights on the ledge. After attempting to make it back for a few days I feel comfortable getting up to that point, but for some reason no matter what I try to do I get an arrow to the face and fly off the ledge. It's been frustrating and I'm sure there's some kind of trick to getting past, but for the life of me I can't seem to get it right.
I had a strategy for these guys and I think I could do it now even though I'm kind of drunk. No randomness here, just pure skill. Once you leave the last spire and head toward the wall, you're committed. Go full speed, and when you hit the well go left. You'll get shot in the back by the knight that was on the right, but parallel to the way you're moving so you won't get knocked off. After that, you just walk behind/past the knight that you headed toward. It seems crazy, but if you just walk past with a steady hand, he won't attack quick enough. Then you'll be down slope and you'll have a spire protecting you from the knight on the right so he can't snipe you. Now it's just a simple sword fight with lefty. When he is dead, righty is easy enough to handle. Just approach slow while blocking until you're close enough that he switches from arrow to sword. Piece o cake
Thanks for the advice. I eventually just used a greatsheild for more stability and lucked my way on to the other side of the Knight on the right. Slipped around and got back to the bonfire. After exploring what I think to be most of the cathedral I chickened out before heading in to fight Ornstein and Smough. That's gonna be one hell of a fight.

I always go for swords, and wanted to try polearms. So I've been trading off between various weapons I've found. Spear, Winged Spear, Halberd, Gargoyle Halberd. So far... not a huge fan
The halberds seem very slow and not incredibly strong to make up for the loss of agility. And while the spear attacks are a bit quicker, they do little damage and still seem to leave me open too much. Rize I know you're a huge fan, what appeals to you? Anyone else have any attachments to these weapons and why?
I've been using Spears / halberds since I found a winged spear. I've been using the Gargoyle Halberd since I picked it up because it's the most damaging weapon that I've found so far without a ridiculous strength requirement. As a total Dark Souls newbie the range is really nice for an extra buffer zone where I can usually catch enemies mid-swing or after they miss with an easy and relatively safe counter-attack. I haven't tried how feasible that would be with a regular sword, but it just "feels" safer using the halberd. I'm a little hesitant to upgrade it so far, because I don't know how rare titanite shards are and also not sure how quickly I'll find an upgrade that would make me regret that decision.
In the past two days I've progressed in to the Darkroot Garden, up to the boss, who has so far proven to be incredibly obnoxious. One thing I've really enjoyed about Dark Souls is that no matter how hard a boss / enemy is they haven't felt impossible yet. I need to work on my timing for dodging these stupid butterfly attacks and then it should be much more manageable.
