#1269743 Nsfe Collection

Posted by Anonymotron on 21 December 2014 - 07:35 AM

Happy Winter Solstice everyone!  I sent my final update of the year over to WiiGuy.  It's a fairly large one that includes Alien Syndrome, Castle of Deceit, Double Dare, Galaxy 5000: Racing in the 51st Century, Golf Grand Slam, King Neptune's Adventure, Master Chu and the Drunkard Hu, Mickey's Adventures in Numberland, Mickey's Safari in Letterland, North & South, Princess Tomato in the Salad Kingdom, Star Trek: The Next Generation, Street Cop, Stunt Kids, Super Cars, Toobin', Trog, Twin Cobra, Ultimate Air Combat, and Wally Bear and the NO! Gang.  North & South has a ton of tracks I can't find; I imagine they might be cutscenes from the JP version (North & South: Wakuwaku Nanboku Sensou) that Kemco cut out of the North American release but I have no way to verify this.
The good news is that this puts us with fewer than 50 (existing) NSFe's left on the North American list.  The bad news is that I was admittedly picking some low-hanging fruit this time around, and many of the remaining titles will be tough to tag.  In other words, I won't be able to make updates as large as this one anytime soon. :)
I also added a "Composers" tab to the main spreadsheet which, for anyone curious, lists songs arranged for the NES from outside sources.

Hi all, I have some more updates to NTSC games for WiiGuy to verify.  The latest batch includes Bill & Ted's Excellent Video Game Adventure, Casino Kid II, Chubby Cherub, Fun House, Quattro Adventure, Quattro Arcade, Quattro Sports (already tagged, I just cleaned it up), Rainbow Islands: The Story of Bubble Bobble 2 (thanks to Lemmy556 at longplays.org), Star Trek: 25th Anniversary (thanks to MadMatty at  longplays.org), Winter Games, and World Games.  With World Games down that leaves only two more David Wise NES soundtracks to go (Double Dare and Pirates!).

I saw this on the VGMPF: http://www.vgmpf.com...on_Wheels_(NES).  Keep up the good work, Doommaster!

Happy 29th Birthday to the Nintendo Entertainment System!  In addition to uploading NSFe's for Iron Tank: The Invasion of Normandy and Roger Clemens' MVP Baseball recently, today I uploaded Casino Kid and Palamedes for WiiGuy's verification.

Obviously it's not a NES game, but has anyone made a NSFE of Shovel Knight yet? The NSF is freely available from the game soundtrack's bandcamp page, and it is very much worth a listen and a donation, in my opinion!

Thanks for tipping us off to this OST.  After listening, I had to check the mirror to make sure my face had not, in fact, melted.  Kidding aside, several tracks have been stuck in my head for a week.  I uploaded the timed and tagged NSFE to WiiGuy's DropBox.  My track times are not the same as the mp3s as I used the two-loop, ten-second standard that I've been using for everything else.  If anyone would like to re-time it to match the official track list, have at it.

I converted the Genesis soundtrack of Predator 2 to NES/NSFE. Not sure if anyone's interested, but it's my favorite Matt Furniss soundtrack.

Sure thing.  I liked the movie and the game.  Since you are familiar with Famitracker and converting soundtracks, do you think you could do the same for some of the soundtracks that have not been ripped?  For example, since Remote Control only has one song, perhaps you could make an NSF.  May be a silly idea, but I thought I'd throw it out there.

As for Shovel Knight, I'll take a listen and try to make a timed file.

I uploaded the timed versions of the latest batch of files.  I also did the byte change to create an NTSC version of The Lion King.

Happy beginning of the climatological summer, everyone.  I sent some more NSFes over to WiiGuy including The Adventures of Gilligan's Island, The Black Bass [Black Bass II JP], The Magic of Scheherazade, Mystery Quest, Touch Down Fever, and The Ultimate Stuntman.  The last two each have a jingle I couldn't place after viewing playthroughs, so please update them if you know where they are used.  That brings the NTSC total, by my count, to 630!

Hello everyone,

Lance here.  Long time reader, first time poster and so on…my account was recently validated so I'll jump in the discussion.  Thanks WiiGuy for sharing the collection.  It became way too large and unwieldy for me to manage alone, so I started working with WiiGuy and Doommaster and the more input the better.  I'll be the first to admit that my collection isn't perfect, so I appreciate feedback and edits.  Winged Cat, you're totally right that I borked the names on Battletoads & Double Dragon and Super C, which I've since fixed, and I'm sure there are more.  What WiiGuy and I found is that my forte is providing the track times, so that's been my focus lately.  If other people pitch in the track names then I can continue on that route.  The good news is we're about 80% done with the NTSC list, and roughly halfway done with the total.

Cheers,
Lance
