All the time when I tell people what I do they say, "Oh I don't understand art, I can't even draw." (or worse, "I only like art I can understand.") Well, ya know what, I don't know how to make a car, but I sure appreciate being able to drive one.

i love art and expression but the $ amount spent is obscene ,offensive, and excessive

especially with hungry peoples living in the world

yes he wraped a bridge in paris put up a bunch of umbrellas in california and wraped the reichstag in germany and wrapped some islands in florida

yea i understand the money issue,

they did pay for it themselves, no grants or sponserships

I've always thought large scale community sculpture/installation was a good investment. However, I think that lesser known artists would be a better investment for both the public who will interact with the art and up and coming "Newbies". I think public sculpture/architecture is, unfortunately, is purchased by people who havn't a clue as to the "value" they're getting for their "art dollar''
