Frail. Man. That band was the shit. What did the Philly incarnation of GBM sound like?

They were like poppy Fugazi. That sounds bad, but to my nineteen year old ears, they were amazing. I had a demo (tape demo!) that got lost in a move at some point.

Pine Wyatt!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

word!

hey who are these guys? i have a 7" of theirs that i think was handed to me outside of a sebadoh (maybe it was dinosaur?) show at La Luna/pine st. theater in portland 8 or 9 years ago. i think. ill have to look when i get home.

Pine Wyatt was John Hofmann(Secret Life of Painters), Ryan Kennedy(Reuben Accomplice) and Pete Schmidt(not sure now).

It is some pretty crazy shit.

Ohio River Valley (Cincinnati/Dayton):
Swearing At Motorists
Brainiac
Guided By Voices (R. Pollard covering REM's "Sitting Still" at 2:30am)
Bootsy Collins
The Mortals
Lazy
Afghan Whigs (Greg Dulli once stole a bottle of vodka from a dressing room at one of the local clubs, and was chased out of the club by Meatloaf himself)

Astoria/Queens (NYC):
F.M. Cornog (East River Pipe)
Run DMC (yes, Jamaica-Queens is kinda a stretch)
The Ramones (though they were from inland Queens)
Tony Bennett
does Christopher Walken count?

Tempe/Phx
I haven't been around long enough, but there's a bunch I'd like to see.

wasn't lemon krayola playing just about everywhere then?!?

(fun trivia fact, look at the cover of Elliott Smith's "Either/Or" and you can see 'Lemon Krayola' scribbled on the mirror behind him---yup pic taken in tempe).

i'm bad with years, but that's my old band. i remember playing the congo, and also those band names

about 2 or so years into the full band (GA) we got the inspiration for the inbreds from seeing jimmy dale gilmore playing 'bluegrass style' at club congress. i'd have to say the inbreds was one of the most satisfying musical situations i've ever played in. rahouse was brilliant, of course, and the instrumentation allowed us to play all sorts of shit from all over the country and bluegrass map

did you ever see us play during the day at wongs? those were some epic sets

that's cool, what instrumnet? stand-up bass? i think we saw ya at wongs as well, or was it the grievous angels? it is all fuzzy. rauhause i guess played at the modified last friday with the re-grouping of sleepwalker with jamal. jamal was at the alley on friday, it was good to see him. used to play with One a lot as well. good memories.
