[RANT]

You know, I'm really friggin slammed with work right now. I've got tons of stuff to get done. So, what better time for the blaster worm to hit (last week) and then this new SoBig.f virus this week? WTF? Now every jackass and their brother has to ask me why they're getting returned mail they didn't send, even after I sent out a bulk email explaining the sender spoofing it does. One woman got the virus sent to her 200 times last night, no shit. I'm so pissed. You know what else? I got FOUR MORE microsoft security bulletins in my inbox today - three of which are listed as critical. The woman over in the College of Liberal Arts just sent me SIX descriptions of worms and viruses spreading on the ASU networks RIGHT NOW. Goddamn. This sucks. I want to wring the neck of any MS executive I can get my hands on right now, shake him or her back and forth and say "GET IT RIGHT OR DON"T RELEASE IT, YOU FUCK!"

I have been hearing alot about this, and was wondering what the hell was going on with all this exta email I was getting.
I guess this is a bigtime windows thing, I am running linux and we haven't had any big issues.

That fucker was running around the Naval Base all day yesterday and people are still getting emails w/ it. I never saw the email but I did get a System Admin fail to send message saying that I tried to send the virus to someone I don't even know. We had to shut down and reboot like three four times so they could add the new protector goodies. I finally just turned mine off for awhile so I only rebooted twice. One dude working on a really big CAD project was forced to reboot four times in like 2 hours. It takes like an hour for CAD to fucking load a file so he was getting hot. I think I heard him say "Get it fucking right!" a couple times too.

M'r f'n c's'r

Some of us live in the real world where we are whores to Windows and Microsoft and we get fucked constantly by their buggy software...

Yeah I heard there are two worms one for good and one for evil.

It's the strangest thing I have ever heard (not really the strangest but you know what I meant)

Microsoft is just the big target. Hackers and virus makers are extremely talented, I really think they'd get the job done on whatever platform would screw the most people.

Very true

I must agree with that

If microsoft blew up and everyone went to some other OS that would be the main target whether it be linux, Mac OS, FreeBSD, Solaris or whatever

Yet another reason I have a mac! I got the SoBigf thing in 13 mails, but then they just sat their dead because they don't work on non-Gates systems.. like OSX 1.2

Microsoft does suck guys, sorry.

All men dream, but not equally. Those who dream by night in the dusty recesses of their minds, wake in the day to find that it was vanity: but the dreamers of the day are dangerous men, for they may act on their dreams with open eyes, to make them possible.

Yeah, but when I go home I'm playing Vice City, and that doesn't work on a Mac...

It's easy for us system admin types to spot viruses and keep our systems from getting infected, but those goddamn users always fuck everything up!

Yeah, life would be so much simpler without the users. Too bad they're the reason why all those computers are out there.

Without the users, we wouldn't have jobs. Well I would, but I wouldn't have so much POWER.
