DING! XiphQT components is all you need to playback FLAC & Ogg/Vorbis files in QuickTime or iTunes. A must for people like me who have both iTunes and a Linux media player (Rhythmbox/Listen/Amarok) accessing their music library.

that's cool and all, but you still can't listen to ogg or flac on your iPod.

Does it have format conversion?

there's tons of apps out there that will convert ogg to whatever, but what's the point?

how so? iTunes can play vorbis, iPods can't. i don't want to covert all of my ogg vorbis files to apple's preferred format when they are already in the format i want (which is a free format that costs no money to use and has plenty of documentation, so it would be little problem for a company like apple to add it)?

the selling point of a media player should be the media it can play. the iPod plays fewer amounts of media than pretty much any modern media player. why?
