I'm going trail running this eve if you wanna blow out yer knees. And Friday, Sat, Mon, Weds, Fri, Sat...


i'm down 20lbs in about the last 4 months (the first 10lbs was likely due to no soda or fast food). walking, climbing, etc all seems much easier on my knees without the extra weight.

Speaking of knees! My fat ass went for a run yesterday before work and right after my knee started to swell up pretty bad :( I thought if I wrapped it and iced it that it would be cool by today but it's actually even more swollen!

I'm wating till Saturday to have it checked out; if it's still the same. I've never had anything like this happen before and it's making me feel old, fat and sickly. :(

hope it's nothing too serious.

just had a chicken taco salad that my gf and i came up with last night using the ingredients we're allowed through this diet and it rules. way better than baked chicken over spinach. or the hard boiled eggs.

(although, i'm down 9lbs since thursday so..) :P

unless you plan on never going back to eating a realistic diet, that 9 pounds doesnt count at all....it will come back once you start eating actual meals. any weight loss above2-4 pounds a week (especially if you arent exercising) is essentially artificial.

im not doing so hot with the losing weight thing, even though im in better shape by far. its because i still drink, im afraid. unfortunately, at some point im going to have to stop SAYING that im gonna cut out those carbs/calories and just do it. the hard part is that i love beer and bourbon. FUCK.

today ive had a cliff bar, apple, string cheese, vitamin water zero, regular water and a handful of pretzels. tonight im bakin up some chicken and veggies.

last night i had yet another late night, buzzed corn tamale. im soo friggin hooked on tamales right now!

edit: thats why i dont run, my knees are just destroyed. ive been riding, and moved up to the elliptical. holy christ that thing is a big jump in difficulty.

Yeah, I hear you on that 2-4 a week thing.

I've lost 20 lbs over the past 3mos and it's hard.

I really do not exercise as much as I should, but more than I used to.

I have cut out all sugar sodas, and drink flavored or unflavored unsweetened seltzer waters.

I like these cuz it feels like drinking a beer or soda. Kinda.

Cut out sugar in coffee and am enjoying it black. Trying to eat oatmeal and stuff like that in the mornings and not eat too late at night.

I feel like I am doing pretty good, at a nice pace for the long run.

Don't forget: Allow yourself to cheat sometimes. If you don't, you'll have a bingey carbfest weekend like I did. bloat.

that's what's supposed to be different about this diet. you do the restricted diet and the drops for a phase. then you follow that up with stopping the drops and doubling what you eating before. still no sugars or starches. from what the diet states, you're resetting your hypothalamus. telling it what you're supposed to weigh and how to better metabolize your intake. i dunno.. could be all bullshit but it wasn't expensive and if nothing else, it's testing my willpower. making me realize i don't have to have a candy bar, soda, or beer every day.

*means to an end.. means to an end* one week down, 2 to go. the three weeks of a "maintenance" diet. basically all the stuff i'm eating now but double or triple to maintain the same weight. i can't wait to have a whole grapefruit in the morning instead of just a half of one! <_<

oh, i had an apple and some strawberries as well. and some coffee, along with an oatmeal raisin cookie that my wife made. FTW!!!

i tried dieting a while back. it didn't take.


i've never really been super obese or anything so i haven't tried any of the other fad diets out there. my gf got us set up on weight watchers so i started to pay more attention to what i was eating and how many servings of fruit and veggies i was getting. before her and i moved in, i lived with two dudes. every other night we were up at papago drinking beer and eating pizza. once that changed, and i cut out soda, i dropped 10-15lbs. i'm only 5'6". and all the info out there says i should be 150lbs. i'm 30lbs heavier than that right now. it was 50. now i don't expect to get down to 150lbs. i figure i'd look pretty odd at that weight as i've got a larger frame than probably most dudes that are 5'6". i figure i'll be fine at 165lbs. we'll see.

Last night was cheese and crackers for dinner. A night I enjoy.

I had Roquefort cheese for the first time, and it was delicious.

Also, they Fry's by my house has Lime Crush. Had to get it to try.

As a result, I had Negativland's song "Nesbitt's Lime Soda" stuck in my head for most of the evening.
