made sole meuniere last night. it's basically a piece of fish sauteed in butter, then drenched in more butter. i actually took some butter out of the traditional french recipe, and was still thinking "holy shit, this is way too much butter."
bonus springtime vegetarian recipe:
chilled corn with mint, tomato, and goat cheese.
i'm not currently eating this, but i will be as soon as our tomatoes are ready.

i switched the tahini i use for my hummus last night and it came out like fucking paste. need to try to fix with some olive oil and lemon juice

Recently discovered that if you mix a little chili garlic sauce in with the hummus, it's pretty damn good.

Holy lord, I can't wait to be there...
their sausage consumption is impressive. they basically take a loaf of bread and hollow it out, then lube it with mustard or whatever else you want, then put a 15 inch long sausage in it, and they refer to that as a "hot dog". it makes every hot dog you've ever eaten here look like a jerk.
oh, and that one has chunks of cheese IN THE FUCKING SAUSAGE.
i'ma write up a big food blog post on it.
as a sidenote, if you (ian) ever go to vienna i would love to see your photos. mine turned out awesome and i was using a gd camera phone. yours would probably make me ejaculate.
