another thing is you might want to install some motion lights in the darker areas outside your house...espeically in those areas between houses that tend to be overlooked.

that sucks about the police and i hope that you get some kind of repsonse through the comlaint you filed. Good thing your neighbors were on the look out and not just hiding in their house being hombodies. In my neighborhood we have irrigation twice a month and so sometimes my time is scheduled very late like 2am and I am out in the front and backyard of my house. We used to have issues with methheads that would come late at night and try to score meth from one of the houses down the street. The owners of the house lived in LA or some shit and were renting out to tweakers and dealers. The neighborhood got sick of these people parking on our street and walking to go get their score...often they would break in to cars and houses. We organized a neighborhood posse that took shifts late at night and walked the street to deter these meatheads. After a month of this the renters of the "crack house" got the hint and moved out since none of their clients could get donwn to their house without being noticed. Ever since then I still keep an eye out for criminals when doing irrigation and have called the Police a few times on peeping toms and people that "just didn't belong" there that late. The point of the story is that best way to get crime out of a neighborhood is if the nieghbors communicate and look out for each other. Its unfortunate today when you look at the way houses are built that they are built in ways that don't encourage nieghborly communication with high walls and the proches in the backyard as opposed to the front. I love sitiing on my front porch and staring down those fools who like to drive 90 down our street...even had a few of them stop reverse and threaten me from their car for satring at them...I just tell them to keep the speed down and stay the fuck out of my neighborhood and then i recite their licence plate number to them and hold up my cell phone...they usually get the picture.

I might sound like a completly old man here but its stories like Jackies that just piss me off.
By the way I saw Gran Turino the other night and besides the racial epithats and such from Clint in that movie his character was such a badass.

we caught the notice in the paper and caught the address of where this guy was living,
and then a couple weeks later, a couple days ago, we got a letter from the police department
saying as much as the info in the paper did. i couldn't help but wonder if he had to deliver the letters
himself, like jesus.

we keep our doors locked all the time.

but i sort of just feel kind of bad for the guy, as weird and awful
as that might sound.
