i think i'm gonna alternate boddington's and bud heavy during the soccer match tomorrow. maybe hit total wine and find some beer from south africa to round it out a bit. ha ha

while i do not condone this idea at all (i dont really get it, plus bud light and boddingtons are both WAY outclassed by other beers from each country) i dont think ive seen any african beer. the closest ive had is LION stout, which is from like sri lanka

i was going with obvious choices. as in "first beer that comes to mind" from each country to the lay person (meaning me).

Today, South African Breweries (SAB) controls the vast majority of the South African beer market, and with the notable exception of imported brands such as Heineken, Guinness and others, SAB owns and produces all the major brands in the country, as well as owning Miller's Genuine Draft (American), Peroni, Pilsner Urquell and long list of others which makes it the world's second largest brewery. Their most popular and valuable brand is Castle Lager, which has a warm and heady taste, although this is often a point of contention.

They also produce Castle milk stout and Black Label, which is popular among the black population.

stopped at the liquor store on the way home from the bank before the bank. they had a relatively decent selection. nothing from the african continent however. went with Leinenkugel's Sunset Wheat. i hadn't had it in awhile and it makes for a tasty summertime beverage. i spent most of the game working on stuff around the house so i missed 90% of it.

indeed it is. a good sip when it's 100 out. now that i've got a rockin' porch (swing coming soon) i may try that mike's hard lemonade and dab at my forehead with a bandana and ask people as they pass if it's "hot enough for them today."

no way man, half shot (or more if you have hair on your chest) of gin into a glass of ice and ginger beer (not ale, beer is more bitter, jamican style ginger ale is the same thing). That is the official summer drink of porch sitting.
