Nickelback is only offensive because so many authors of fine music are pool cleaners that are not invited to rock 15000 seat venues and we can't understand it Tone. The lead singer on a track called Faggot B is a member of my top 3 bands of all time and what does he get as reimbursement for his bold forray into the craft? Satisfaction that he get's to do it with people he likes? The occasional $350 bucks at a bar that his voracious drummer blows on shots at the venue? You and Nickelback guy sing songs to each other for fifteen minutes, gather the opinions of those that listened, you will find that he has stolen your stage time and the affluent lifestyle that rightfully accompanies crafting songs that increase the motivations of the listener.Sadly, alot of people who rail against creed or nickel back would be very cordial to those band members in person, a nice hearty Gah you fuckin' suck would be replaced with Oh wow, your the bass player for nickel back? Wow. Who's that freak that sings "Fifteen there's still time for you hey fifteen, only a wish better than this, when you've only got a hundred years to live?" Who the fuck is that dillhole, bring him to a party at my place and I swear I will dress him down for stealing 2 hours of my life 3 minutes at a time, dulling my senses and my belief that all people are intelligent, and if he even pretends to defend his motivations for that rape of the listeners senses, I will cave in his skull with a pipe wrench. (not really, but I would escort him out immediately).
fight the real enemy, troy.
it's not nickelback's fault that you lost 2 hours of your life listening to their bullshit. it's the fault of the corporate radio executive that decided it was "popular", or the other decision makers. nickelback just wants to play music. i'd let them stay at my party. but if they asked if liked their music, i certainly wouldn't lie about it.

well, i think viewfinder summed it up best. we all wanna be rock stars.
we've discussed this before, and i stand by my assertion that if everyone felt the same way about our music as you did, things would be a lot different. but until that happens, yes, we do it for the satisfaction of playing with people that we like. and i'm totally okay with that. also, nobody's paying us $350.

My thesis is called the "Black-Emperor-Says Theory" and holds that any any Phoenix-area indie rock festival there is a 100 percent probability that Emperors of Japan, Black Carl, and/or What Laura Says will be on the bill.
