This was big last night... packed house, crazy variety of performers (ranging from folk to native american flute to country to standup comedy). Thx in large part to New Times calandar I'm sure, but there's some momentum gathering here... see y'all next week.

not the flute dude, he was pretty bad ass.

haha... no, not the flute dude (aka "Calming Wind").
it's this younger guy who's usually quite stoned/drunk who goes to the mic without any instrument... and offers about 60 seconds of 'shock' monologue, then sings/improvises terribly, terribly out of tune for about 30 seconds while shaking so bad he might be having a seizure. Open mic at its absolute strangest. The topic that put him over the edge with the owner was about how upset he was that he couldn't give blood because he'd dabbled in gay sex recently and how annoyed he was that he and his pal couldn't find pot that night. So yeah, harmless in any broader scope, but no real artistic contribution, and the owner doesn't want him there....
PLEASE come by, bring a guitar (or whatever) :-)
