i found my current gf on there and we're pretty stoked on each other. she's cool with dating a short, hairy, overweight dude. that whole "nice guys finish last" thing always seems true until you find a great girl who doesn't care where you work or what kind of car you drive.

Also, a lot of people freak me out. I mean, I always knew there were a lot of wierdos or shady types out there, but when you have to read about them and analyze it, you see just how many people out there have lost their shit. Kinda funny. Very scary.

The wonderful Cornell math geeks who started OKCupid have a blog on there now with fascinating statistics and survey results that help you suss out the demographic you might want to target or decide what other cities to look in, or whatevs. They track absolutely everything, and so they can tell you which profile keywords, what kind of photo, etc., gets what kind of responses.
