i'm sure it was touching and beautiful and so non-offensive that people pooped puppies and rainbows after watching it.
but the fact is that CBS took money from a hate group
CBS is a dick
Actually it was kind of creepy. Fully looked like an eHarmony ad.

it was about 100 times less inflammatory than i was expecting.
still lies
yeah.. maybe i need to watch it again without the booze but i didn't see much wrong with it. i only recall her saying that she "almost lost" her child on a few occasions or something. i don't remember them referencing abortion or choice at all.

i actually did shit a puppy. true story.
i'm not disagreeing with you - i'm just saying i was under the impression that the ad itself would be more controversial. it really was kind of like an eharmony ad.

Also, "CNN contributor" Erick Erickson is a major league asshole. But I guess that's not exactly news.

And they try to label CNN as too liberal?I'm firmly in the camp that says it's still not too late to abort Tim Tebow.

Does this surprise you? CBS is a major corporation whose entire existence is based around the idea of "lets make some fucking money!". The executives are also (like 76% of Americans, according to Wikipedia) probably Christians and thus see no problem with pro-life ads being aired during their programming because it fits into their views.but the fact is that CBS took money from a hate group
I don't get too upset about things like this because I realize that I am a minority living in a country, that while it preaches separation of church and state, that is complete bullshit because the majority of the country is Christian. Of course a commercial like this is going to be acceptable to the networks when compared to something like, say, a commercial advertising a gay dating site, because being gay is an abomination, and not having abortions promotes family and your fetus could grow up to be a football player if you don't abort it. (or it could grow up to be gay.)
Getting upset or trying to get a network to pull a TV commercial is pointless, wasted energy, because until people stop pulling their morals and values from a stupid fucking book that's incredibly outdated, or what some ignorant asshole from the shitty part of the country says, it isn't going to change. About the only thing one could've done is simply not watch the program as a sign of protest, but it's the Superbowl. Do you really think a handful of people not watching does anything? Being a Saints a fan is about the only manly thing that I really do, and I'll be goddamned if I wasn't going to watch them win their first Superbowl because of some commercial that I might not like, but will air regardless of whether or not my TV is turned to Channel 2 at that time.

all you said is true. but if people didn't make a big deal about this ad, no one would know that CBS was as lame as it is.
It's good to call organizations and companies out on their bullshit. it may not stop them but it does bring negative attention to them.
i didnt watch the super bowl - instead i went through my vinyl collection, and listened to some forgotten records, smoked hella weed, and then watched Trailer Park Boys.

if it was a "non-offensive" ad from the KKK people would have freaked the fuck out on CBS.

totally agree. I also did something very, very similar instead of watching it.

and the who should be banned from performing any more concerts. ever. and i'm sure it was a coincidence that they did every song that just happens to be used as the theme song for CBS's very own CSI.

My girlfriend made a big deal out of the same thing, and I call bullshit. The songs that CSI uses are also some of The Who's biggest hits, and if The Who is limited to a four song set, those are the songs I'd expect them to play, regardless of who was hosting the event. I also thought they sounded fairly goddamn good. What were you people expecting? Roger and Pete to suddenly be young, and Keith and John to be resurrected from the dead? For fucks sake, it's 2010, not 1970. I'd rather hear great songs that I love played decently than shitty music I don't give a fuck about (like bullshit pop or Bruce Springsteen)and i'm sure it was a coincidence that they did every song that just happens to be used as the theme song for CBS's very own CSI.
