based on your responses I take it youre a big Dharma and Greg fan. You enjoy their kooky and ditzy humour but underneath it all you can still sense the love they have towards humanity.

I've actually never seen it, but its good that you can find a relevance in and draw on themes in sitcoms and apply them to the real world-
-Hey, its better than nothing, i guess. You would really get along with all my co-workers....they love Sex and The City.

i guess thats what you get with computer chat though, a bunch of assumptions
oh yea rock snot dead
-trunkspaceAll the time when I tell people what I do they say, "Oh I don't understand art, I can't even draw." (or worse, "I only like art I can understand.") Well, ya know what, I don't know how to make a car, but I sure appreciate being able to drive one.

the problem with his argument is that he equates dead with unpopular. we've provided examples of "living, breathing, forward-looking" bands that aren't necessarily popular but still rock. thus, rock = alive.
plus. jazz = alive too. Tortoise, Medeski Martin and Wood, Drums and Tuba, some of DJ Spooky's stuff could all be considered "living, breathing, forward-looking" jazz musicians as well.
but in the end, who gives a fuck whether or not "rock" is dead? music is still alive and still good. i don't really care if it's the strokes, the neptunes, or britney spears that gets you jumping around your bedroom. in either case, it's still stirring emotion and still doing good. so who fucking cares.
breaking news - this argument is dead. or maybe just boring.
