im in for a meet up, i am always down to work on protecting our freedoms, whether that be civil rights or reproductive rights, or whatever.

we're all in this together.

But let's go back to the meet-up and do something parts...when is that happening?

Aight, the sooner the better I guess.

I understand that we should probably be looking at China and the atrocities over there, so I understand those who don't have time to help because you are focused on helping with bigger things, all I can say is thank you for looking at the bigger picture, if you have any demonstrations or petitions for me to sign, let me know and I will wholeheartedly make myself available to sign a petition and demonstrate. I will help on most anything that I can, it just happens that I am focused on 1070 at the moment. By all means create threads about the shit going on. I and the rest of the people who read this messageboard need to be informed of everything that is going on in our world today.

For those of you who do have time with the SB1070 issues, I will create a new thread :)

come on dude, It's upsetting to me that you (not you specifically) can't get married if you're gay. I care about that. I think it's ridiculous. If you want to get married, you should be able to get married, regardless of what sex you're into. The issue here is racial profiling. If this bill was about mexicans not being allowed to get married, then I would be able to understand your train of thought. Bringing up other issues and getting upset because a band didn't take a stand on something else is silly.

I think this ideology represents a lot of why people are so laxed about the SB 1070 bill. It is actually a civil rights issue. It's not just about racial profiling mexicans. You must look at the bigger picture. It might be difficult to do that if you only look at the bill. You should try to get access to that harpers article that donald posted earlier, or just google civil rights laws. It might make you think about your family, wherever you come from, your liberties and freedoms and how easily you progress through these freedoms. You have to bring up other civil liberty issues when analyzing this, because if you're pissed that in AZ you can't marry your same sex partner, you might also understand not being a caucasian (legal, illegal, going through the process of being legal) and being potentially pulled over and/or harassed for your papers ("reasonable suspicion").

i'm not sure if my last post was appropriate for your thoughts or not venven. I stand by that post, but I'm not sure if it was for you. I guess what I'm trying to say is that it is civil liberties and I think we're all connected to it. In my mind, bands should be playing here and understand that it's not all of the people that live, grew up here, that agree with the state government. By not coming here, they're crippling our already handicapped economy and stifling those of us who live here still and disagree with the bill and more. Who does that hurt?

not sure, but he should hate me. I have no love for Omaha or shitty haircuts.

Seriously all these bands are cowards, bring the fight to Arizona, not from a safe distance. And join a real cause, not some pussy fake cause, have your CDS pulled from stores in AZ, ask to have your songs removed from radio stations owned by clear channel, fight the power not the people.
